Do You Support Free Speech On The Internet? Read This!

Note: This article talks about the latest news on Twitter, some general Web2 problems and how we are solving them. We hope you are enlightened!

On the 19th of December, over 10 million people voted for Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter, to step down. This was after a drastic change in Twitter’s policy on free speech. The new policy allowed Twitter to ban accounts “created solely” to promote competing social networks. Of course, this move led to a wave of backlash and less than 24 hours after, the policy was reversed.

Following this, Musk tweeted that future policy changes would consider majority votes. We are still waiting to see if this applies to his stepping down as Twitter’s CEO.

This event reminds us of the need to move from Web2, centralized and founder-centred platforms, to Web3, which is built on the Blockchain and empowers individual freedom and responsibility. Ryan Selkis, the founder and CEO of Messari, supported this view in his tweet, saying, “shout-out to everyone building decentralized social media — its importance has never been clearer”.

In situations like this, decentralized social media sounds like a perfect solution but is it a reality yet? The answer is No.

The future internet, Web3, is built on the Blockchain. Still, Blockchain itself needs key factors that this iteration of the internet must have to truly achieve mainstream adoption. They include interoperability, DID and ZKP.

Because if we truly want an internet built on pillars of free speech, user privacy and individual responsibility, we need a bridge between every network on the Blockchain. This is where Match comes in.

Let us explain what we do.

Match: Bringing Interoperability To Web3

Match chain was built out of the need to promote cooperation over competition among Blockchain networks. We plan to make interoperability a reality among these networks.

To achieve this, we are leveraging the Cosmos Hub network structure, which effectively connects and enhances traffic between Blockchains across various ecosystems. Also, the network uses Cosmos’s Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) layer to facilitate a smooth user experience between different blockchains.
This means that it can connect the EVM and Move-VM-based ecosystems.

Once this is implemented, Blockchains can seamlessly interact with one another. As you can imagine, this interaction will breed innovation across the ecosystem.
Following this chain reaction, decentralized social media platforms will be able to deliver the promised ‘free web’ and billions of end users will enjoy the experience.

Simply put, Match will be the key driver in promoting true interoperability and the betterment of web3 as a whole.

How we are using DIDs and Zero-Knowledge Proof to support the Web3 dream.

The fight for data privacy is a major spark lighting the Web3 fire. There are news alerts of stolen data or hacked databases every other week. To worsen the case, users don’t have complete control or ownership of their data and are unaware of how much their private data is utilized for profit.

Following this, Match promotes access and utility for Decentralized Identifiers (DID).

Our decentralized identifiers give users digital proof of identity without limiting their ownership and control. This way, users have access to a digital identity they can carry across networks and Dapps.

In contrast to centralized data, where data is sold without the customer’s consent, our DID brings a refreshing change.

Beyond the advantages of having a digital identity, we also offer a unique model which incentivizes users to contribute to and improve their social credentials.

This works as illustrated below:

When users perform any activity on-chain, such as DeFi transactions or interactions, we use a credit system to rate and rank their trustworthiness. This personalized ranking system will give them a crypto credit score and grant them access to various opportunities.

Undoubtedly, this kind of credit rating will become the cornerstone of Web3.

Let’s not forget our Zero-knowledge Proof.

In the Web3 ecosystem, it is doubly important to be able to handle data and verify its accuracy without announcing the content of the data itself.
This is achievable using the Zero-Knowledge Proof, which ensures absolute privacy of data. Also, it connects nicely with our DIDs and enables us to verify data without compromising it.

Our Zero-Knowledge Proof is a low-cost, trustless scaling protocol based on the ZK Rollup architecture. It allows for quick, cheap and efficient payments on public chains like Ethereum while supporting data availability and securing users’ assets.
Furthermore, all funds on the Match chain are held by smart contracts on-chain, mainly responsible for deposits, withdrawals, and transaction validation.

With these features in our arsenal, we are able to assure all users on our platform of the security and proper handling of their data.

Do you believe in what we are building? Join Us!

Match is a network that prides itself not just on individual responsibility and control but also on true connectivity and progress through collaboration.

As a platform, we offer various forms of support to solve significant problems and barriers of migrating from web2 to web3, as well as usability and user influx for existing web3 platforms.

We believe in promoting an internet space where individuals feel empowered and making Web3 a reality. Indeed, we are on a mission, and we hope you join us.
