MELON has recently experienced significant internal and external changes. These events have prompted a need for the team to re-evaluate and refocus MELON's vision and mission. This article aims to shed light on these recent dev elopments and provide insights into MELON's future.

In the past couple of months, MELON launched an Airdrop Campaign that far exceeded expectations, drawing hundreds of thousands of unique visitors and sign-ups, and was beyond what the team was ready for.

While it generated substantial excitement, the campaign faced numerous challenges. Eventually, the launch didn't go as planned due to inexperience and team overload, leading to communication issues and suboptimal decision-making. Additionally, external factors, such as market conditions and third-party mismanagement, contributed to further complications, causing FUD and poor community sentiment. The IDO sold out at less than 40%, and the token's launch trading performance was disappointing.

Subsequent developments, including the release of the V1 platform and the Official FAFO NFT collectible drop, also fell short of expectations and had a slow start. All of these events necessitated thorough research, planning, restructuring, and a refocusing of team resources.

In this article, we would like to explain the projects past, present, and future situation, the vision for the future, and what specifically can we expect to be done.

MELON Vision and Focus

The recent explosive community growth, initially exciting, had mixed results. Most of our new members joined for speculative reasons and lacked a deep understanding of MELON's mission and vision, creating a misalignment with the project's core values, which have remained unchanged.

Therefore, we would like to make unequivocally clear what has been Melon’s mission and vision from the very beginning, and for the present and the future.

MELON embarked on its journey over two years ago with a clear mission: to support the Web 3 Creator Economy through a unique Platform and Protocol. This technology would allow creators and fans to create and collect iconic internet content natively, with authenticity, provenance, and a user-friendly experience.

At the core of our mission is the belief that all creators, whether meme creators, content producers, or artists deserve more recognition and opportunities to maximize their earnings. We've long recognized the limitations of centralized web2 platforms, including limited monetization, censorship, and a lack of true content ownership. Additionally, we foresaw challenges in the web3 landscape, such as low-quality NFT drops and a lack of specialized creator tools.

Our overarching mission is to empower the Meme Economy through Collectible Content NFTs. MELON is the only protocol and platform capable of transforming viral social media content into collectible NFTs natively. Our commitment to uniting creators and fans in the world of video and music NFTs remains unwavering, and this vision, conceived two years ago, remains as steadfast today as it was then.

In order to deliver on this vision, there are 2 main areas of focus.

Product development roadmap

Following feedback from the V1 product launch, we have identified the necessity for UI enhancements and the introduction of additional features.

In recent weeks, our team has initiated the design and development phase of our product. Here's a brief overview of what you can expect in the platform's development:

• The platform will undergo a significant upgrade, serving as the new homepage at melon.ooo . This upgrade includes improvements in the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX), making the platform more intuitive and visually appealing.

• In parallel, we are actively working on a Minting protocol. This protocol encompasses the creation of "drops," a feature that will enable users to easily transform their content into NFT collectibles on our platform.

We are dedicated to keeping our community informed of the progress made during these developments. Our aim is to complete these improvements and new products within the timeframe of 2-3 months. Our primary objective is to ensure that Melon maintains its reputation as a user-friendly and state-of-the-art platform, catering to the needs of creators and collectors alike.

Marketing and growth - focus on growing creators and fans

Given that our primary project focus encompasses content, collectibles, creators, and fans, our strategic efforts revolve around marketing and onboarding these key players to our platform. In particular, we place a strong emphasis on the music NFT space, memes, and iconic internet content.

Reaching Out to Creators:

Our strategy to reach out to creators involves a proactive approach. We intend to establish connections with iconic creators in the web3 space. By identifying and engaging these influential figures, we aim to pique their interest in contributing content to our platform. We understand the importance of fostering these relationships to build a thriving creator community within our ecosystem.

Onboarding and Facilitating NFT Drops:

The process of onboarding creators onto our platform includes providing them with the necessary tools and resources to create NFT drops on Melon. We will offer user-friendly and intuitive features that allow creators to seamlessly transform their content into collectible NFTs. Our support extends to guiding them through the process, ensuring they can fully leverage the platform's capabilities for their benefit.

Onboarding Fans and Collectors:

Simultaneously, we're focused on attracting fans and cultivating a vibrant community of collectors. Many members of our community are understandably concerned about the token's performance, as it initially drew them to our project. We've received inquiries about how we plan to support the token price, including possible listings on centralized exchanges and additional token promotion and marketing efforts. We'd like to address these concerns clearly.

It's important to emphasize that the $MELON Token is not the sole focus of our project, unlike typical memecoin projects. Rather, it's an integral part of our ecosystem, and its success is intricately tied to the success of our Platform and Ecosystem. The token serves multiple purposes, providing access and rewards within the platform while governing the platform and protocol.

We do not intend to engage in artificial token promotion or manipulation techniques. Instead, our focus remains on delivering the token's core utility, as defined from the project's inception.

As our platform successfully brings creators and fans together and facilitates NFT creation, the entire ecosystem's value and the token's worth grow in tandem.

Once our platform reaches a certain level of strength, we will establish a DAO, enabling token holders to participate in its governance. This will occur after we've established a robust community around our platform.
