Karate Combat has raised $18 million in a funding round led by Bitkraft Ventures to launch its tech-enhanced full-contact sports. The league, sponsored by the HBAR Foundation, plans to release a Karate Combat “Up Only Gaming” app and a $KARATE token on the Ethereum and Hedera networks on May 10. The app will allow players to allocate $KARATE tokens to their favorite fighters, boosting their potential prize pools. If the chosen fighter wins, the player earns more tokens.
Karate Combat has already gained an audience in over 100 countries, with 4.5 million followers and 10 million views per event. The company became a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) in January, enabling $KARATE token holders to influence the league's direction.
