We are the MetaBox development team. At the beginning of November, we announced the start of the MetaBox ReTech upgrade plan. The plan mainly includes the UI upgrade of the MetaBox MVP (V1) version, the optimization of MetaBox functions, the addition of new DataBox functions, and the deployment of MetaBox The official website of MetaBox, writing MetaBox documentation, etc.
Now, we are very happy to tell you that all the development tasks of MetaBox V2 have been completed and will be deployed on the ICP mainnet soon!
But at the same time, we have some bad news for the early users who accompanied us through the early MetaBox, that is, you, dear MetaBoxers: Due to the frequent updates of the MetaBox and DataBox contracts, as well as the limitations of the ICP blockchain, we cannot upgrade the structure of very early boxes, which involves many complex factors. Therefore, if you have DataBox of MetaBox, these Boxes will be deprecated in V2, I hope to get your understanding, we have tried a lot of solutions, but none of them can satisfy us.
Therefore, before MetaBox V2 goes online, we strongly recommend that you log in to MetaBox and download the files you previously stored in MetaBox (all files, including plaintext and ciphertext), and save them locally, so as not to let this upgrade cause loss to your file data!
We will also reward users who accompanied us through the early days of MetaBox: The MetaBox OG Badge.
Each early MetaBox user will get the same number of MetaBox OG badges as the DataBox you created (the DataBox obtained in the event is also counted as your creation!), and the OG badge will be effective in future MetaBox activities.
In the front end of V2, each of your OG badges can be burned into two ICP tokens. You can choose to burn the OG badges we gave you to get two ICP tokens, or you can choose to continue to hold these OG badges , which is also an choice for MetaBox.
