We've been steadily building our flagship product for more than a year. And we are happy to celebrate with you now!
dAgora-app v1 🏛 🕊️
It took some time to ideate, study and plan. During that period, we've seen a significant change in the industry. We started formulating DecentrAgora at the start of 2020, and to date, we've yet to be successful in our attempts to raise outside funds. So, we're proud to announce non-fungible memberships and the product in its current form.
It's taken a great deal of time and effort to work out the details and get the product into a prototype phase— during building, we have worked in the space, completed bounties, onboarded users: anything we could to keep lights on 🔦, flesh out a product 📦 and ship good code 🧑💻. Keep in mind what we built is our first iteration.

Most of our time and efforts have gone into developing the underlying smart contracts that govern the memberships and, eventually, the organization itself. Ultimately we aim to represent a sustainable, transparent corporate model that gets used across many organized structures.

So far, in the ecosystem, we have seen that DAOs can make for a great approach to a more democratic governance process. However, we have yet to see sufficient accountability for off-chain entities, large addresses or significant delegates of a decentralized protocol. Leading to complicated forum debates, and at the worst of times, it dissuades active participation in governance because of an age-old problem that gets summed up with this phrase: "Why would I vote when I can't change the outcome with the little power I have?"
The problem affecting distributed governance in web3 is the exact problem which plagues traditional democratic societies; how do we persuade everyone to vote? Politics is highly complex, no matter the format. Making it easier to access governance doesn't solve the problem of misunderstandings or the complexities of participation.
We want to help the educational gap in web3, describe and outline what it means to participate in decentralized governance and encourage active protocol usage. Using on-chain metrics and non-fungible memberships as gateways to platform access, users can become educated in web3 and then projects can deploy rewards for milestones, progress or activity.

With NF-memberships, we hope to kickstart people's imagination surrounding on-chain subscription models and protocol access. If you need to onboard users slowly, prioritize for degens or learn about your community and who is in it, non-fungible memberships may work!
To use the dapp, you'll need to navigate here and ensure you are on the right network! The dApp is on the Goerli testnet.
Don’t forget, you'll also need some Goerli Ether to send transactions.

Connect your wallet to the dApp and get some test DAI— our memberships are priced in stablecoins to save people a headache. Since we are decentralization maxis, we opted for a decentralized stable currency.
Test DAI is free because it's not legitimate
Select the 'Test mint DAI' button on the ‘Mint’ page 👇
From there, you should see a prompt in your wallet. Click 'Confirm' to get some test DAI! 🟡
It should only take a few seconds to get some test DAI.
Verify that you have test tokens. You should have 10,000 DAI to test, and that's plenty.
Use the dashboard or click on your wallet in the top corner to see a drop-down menu. It will tell you how much test DAI you have!
Make sure you are on the 'Mint' page; it's the only place to buy a membership tier and gain access to the rest of the app!
You can adjust the membership duration, and you'll notice that you can upgrade too! (Find it in the top menu of the dApp)
If you choose basic, you can always upgrade to premium. Just pay the remaining difference in the membership price!
Also, everyone always has the option to get the enterprise tier (the highest) which lets you delegate to 10 other users so they can access the dAgora dapp too! This tier is perfect for organizations, DAOs, and projects, or if you feel like sharing the love, it works as an excellent gift! 🏢 🗳️ 🧑💻 🎁
Our aim here is to present people with the tools to learn web3 at their pace while also offering the ability to access a platform tailored to their needs. A dagoric membership grants you access to the dagora wizard 🧙 (a similar product to OpenZeppelin!)
Another thing, our membership automatically makes you a community member and, thus, a kind of digital clan or guild 🏰 😉
With that, you have access to power users of web3, professionals in the space and other like-minds— who knows what you'll discover or what perks will come from that! Furthermore, we can interpolate and find the intrinsic value as the network grows.
