On December 7th, 2022, we released Meme of the memes: Meet Summer Glasses.

Our community has been enjoying a new pair of virtual sunglasses designed by no other than Punk6529 himself. At the same time, we’ve been getting countless questions 'what is ‘Meet Summer Glasses’ and ‘Meme of the memes’? What is it really that MYTY has animated, rigged and motion-capture-enabled? And Why?

This blog will walk you through all the details and illustrate why we have decided to integrate Meet Summer Glasses into the MYTY ecosystem.

Who is Punk6529?

Before we can start talking about anything else, we have to learn about Punk6529.

Punk6529 is among the world’s foremost collectors, investors and thought leaders in the NFT space, well-known for his extensive tweetstorms on NFTs and decentralization. 6529 is a leading advocate of the “open metaverse,” which highlights the idea that the architecture of the metaverse should be decentralized and interoperable. In this architecture, NFTs could serve as a vehicle.

With his renowned identity in the NFT space and strong belief, he founded 6529 Collections, a brand that curates the collections created by Punk6529. One of the most noteworthy projects of 6529 Collections is The Memes.

The Memes Collection is focused on the fight for the open metaverse (decentralization, community, self-sovereignty) and spreading this message to many people, many wallets. Each NFT series of The Memes Collection is called ‘Meme Card.’ Each Meme Card is a solo work of Punk6529 or other renowned artists like DrifterShoots and Tommy Wilson.

What is Meet Summer Glasses?

Meet Summer Glasses is Meme Card #35, created by NeonGlitch86 and 6529er.

Looking at the art style and how the distribution was made to XCOPY and his 1/1 holders, we can assume that this piece of Meme Card was inspired by XCOPY.

Most importantly, it is CC0.

For those who are unfamiliar with this term, CC0 is the “no copyright reserved” option in the Creative Commons toolkit - it effectively means relinquishing all copyright and similar rights that you hold in work and dedicating those rights to the public domain. Therefore, anyone is free to use the copyright and create anything.

Not only does the announcement video highlight the message “Free for all to save, copy, use, reuse, remix,” but also Punk6529 tweeted that the Summer Glasses are “now yours in all their crazy vibe - to use wherever you want, in any way you want, virtually or physically.”

What is remarkable about Meet Summer Glasses is that it includes 3D .glb, and .svg files along with the image.

What is Meme of the Meme?

On November 28th, 2022, Punk6529 tweeted with a question, “What should Meme Card derivatives be called?”

The candidate with the highest vote was “Meme of the Memes.” Although this official term for the derivative of the Meme Card has not yet been finalized, we have put the term “Meme of the Memes” to commemorate Punk6529’s open communication with his community and show our respect to Punk6529 by distinctively stating that it is a Meme of the Memes (derivative in Punk6529’s language).

So, ‘Meme of the memes: Meet Summer Glasses’ was born.

Why did MYTY integrate Summer Glasses?

The first utility

Summer Glasses’ artists NeonGlitch86 and 6529er’s intention for making the collection CC0 is to allow anybody to create anything with it. Not specifying how the public should use Summer Glasses, they provided 3d .glb and .svg files. Opening the gate to endless possibilities - “to use wherever you want, in any way you want, virtually or physically.”

Since 2021, MYTY has been animating, rigging and motion-capture-enabling various PFP projects, such as CryptoPunks, Cool Cats, Doodles, GhostsProject, Goblintown, Moonbirds, and Pudgy Penguins.

Yes, you can simply download MYTYCamera, and use your PFPs on video chat and streaming for FREE.

Our community has been using virtual filters to express themselves without limitation in their web3 identity. When we saw the launch of Summer Glasses, we found no reason to not integrate it into the MYTY ecosystem.

Decentralized and interoperable open metaverse

Most importantly, Punk6529 is a leading advocate of the “open metaverse,” meaning that the architecture of the metaverse should be decentralized and interoperable. This is precisely what MYTY believes in.

• Once rigged, their avatars will automatically have the function to be motion-tracked and used in video chat and streaming

• All our current supported avatars (CryptoPunks, Cool Cats, Doodles, GhostsProject, Goblintown, Moonbirds, Pudgy Penguins) are created through MYTY Kit

• MYTY Camera is a free and open-source application that allows users to verify their NFT and use their avatars for video chat and streaming easily.

• MYTY SDK is a free and open-source application that allows metaverse applications to integrate MYTY ecosystem easily.

• For example, if Gather Town wants to integrate NFTs and have numerous motion-tracked PFPs supported from day 1, they can easily adopt our SDK.

• Through our SDK, we envision the formation of a social metaverse and the expansion of PFP projects’ metaverse integration.
