Consensys, Metamask and your IP

ConsenSys, the parent company of MetaMask, issued a statement to reaffirm the purposes of its data collecting following community outrage following an initial privacy policy update on Nov. 24.

MetaMask itself does not collect IP addresses, according to ConsenSys. Instead, the policy states that customers who utilise Infura (or other RPC providers) provide the access their wallets and IP address which are susceptible to data collection.
