NFT Community Spotlight #1 Tom Riddle - NFTSYD
June 9th, 2022

Welcome to the NFTSYD Community Spotlight where we feature artists, designer, builders, and moderators who are paving the NFT space and building out incredible communities and a completely new form of sharing their story, and their brands.

This week we have in the Spotlight Tom Riddle; producer, music artist, and now NFT creator. We asked him how he got started in his music and how he’s now pursuing NFT art as a means of opening up his brand and community.

Gold Coast producer Tom Riddle has firmly cemented his spot on Australia’s list of emerging talents. Tom’s sound palette is decorated with thumping bass line grooves, balanced with intricate high’s and cutting synth textures, a lot to listen out for as he carves out his signature style with each release.

Hey Tom! tell us a bit about yourself?

Thanks for having me! My name is Tom Riddle, currently living and working out of Gold Coast, Australia.

Tell us a little bit more about your background?

I started making music when I was 14, being inspired from the likes of Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris and Skrillex. I played my first show at Good Life Festival where I toured Australia at 15 years old and ever since have been perfecting my craft and inspiring others to do the same.

When did you start doing NFTs?

I first got into crypto and NFTs about 6 months ago learning the technology and I’m looking at releasing my debut NFT, NIBIRU, in January 2022

What made you pursue NFT art as a medium to express your creativity?

Once you learn about the options and utilities NFTs can provide, there is no other option.

Are you currently working on any projects or collaborations at the moment?

I’m working on releasing my debut NFT EP, NIBIRU, which will be a house/EDM collaboration between myself, Jack Megraw and Danksy3D

How do you seek out opportunities?

Networking and reaching out to people will be your biggest asset. If you can help each other in the process, even better.

How do you cultivate a collector base?

By focusing on your art and making it the best it can possibly be. The art will speak for itself.

Who are some of your favourite NFT artists?

Beeple, Danksy3D, Deadmau5, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Annibale Siconolfi

What are your other passions besides art?

I love getting out the house and exploring this beautiful place we call home but ideally anything to do with design and creativity that keeps me inspired

Any advice to anyone looking into entering the NFT space?

Do your research on every project and connect, connect, connect!!
