Step 1: Search for the domain.eth name of your choosing

1.1 - Go to https://app.ens.domains and search check to see whether the .eth domain you want is available, or if someone has already registered it.

To register the domain you’ll need a cryptocurrency/NFT wallet that supports ERC20 tokens. We recommend using MetaMask, learn how to set one up here.

Registering a an available ENS domain name costs 0.002 ETH per year + gas fees for the requires transactions to secure the domain name.

Note: ENS domain names are minted as NFTs and transferred to the registrants wallet, allowing them to manage it through the ENS app and resell it on an NFT marketplace like OpenSea should they choose. Some ENS names have resold for thousands in profit.

2.1 - Connect your wallet to the site.

  • If you are using a computer, the easiest way to do this, select connect and this will open your MetaMask wallet extension, prompting you to log in and sign a message to connect to the site.
  • If you are using a mobile wallet, open the ENS app within the wallet’s browser, or select the Wallet Connect option if you are using your phones browser to be prompted to approve the message in your MetaMask mobile app.

Note: Only connect to sites that you trust and always verify the url looks real.
