This article covers how to register your ENS domain name.
1.1 - Go to https://app.ens.domains and search check to see whether the .eth domain you want is available, or if someone has already registered it.
1.2 - If the domain is available, you can proceed to Step 2 to register it.
1.3 - If the domain is unavailable, you can search for the NFT on OpenSea or other NFT marketplaces to see if the domain name is for sale or to place an offer on it.
To register the domain you’ll need a cryptocurrency/NFT wallet that supports ERC20 tokens. We recommend using MetaMask, learn how to set one up here.
Registering a an available ENS domain name costs 0.002 ETH per year + gas fees for the requires transactions to secure the domain name.
Note: ENS domain names are minted as NFTs and transferred to the registrants wallet, allowing them to manage it through the ENS app and resell it on an NFT marketplace like OpenSea should they choose. Some ENS names have resold for thousands in profit.
2.1 - Connect your wallet to the site.
Note: Only connect to sites that you trust and always verify the url looks real.
2.2 - Select Request to Register after you’ve connected your wallet and are on the available .eth domain name that you want.
This will start the three step registration process that is outlined above.
2.2.1 - Confirm the request transaction and wait for the pending transaction to complete
2.2.3 - Complete Registration by selecting Register and signing the transaction from your wallet
Once the transaction processes, you now own the ENS domain name as an NFT!
