Announcing the Creation of the Nodle DAO: A New Era of Inclusive Decentralized Governance

The Nodle Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the Nodle DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization), marking a major step toward decentralizing the Nodle Network and placing its future directly in the hands of its community.

The creation of the Nodle DAO introduces a structured framework of Nodle Governance Proposals (NGPs), that anyone with a smartphone can vote on. These proposals will allow the community to have a say in the network’s development, ensuring that its direction reflects the collective participation of its users.

This aims to be a significant step in allowing anyone with a smartphone to participate in decentralized governance, without having to argue on message boards, or performing complex (and difficult to understand) governance votes.

What is the Nodle DAO?

The Nodle DAO is an on-chain governance system where NODL token holders can participate in shaping the future of the network. Voting is token-weighted, meaning each NODL token corresponds to one vote.

Introducing NGP001: A Pathway to User-Controlled Governance

The first governance proposal, NGP001, available for comment on GitHub, establishes the framework for the DAO. Its key features include:

  • A simple on-chain voting system, with future plans for in-app voting to enable broad participation from Nodle’s large smartphone user base.

  • A Security Council to safeguard the network during the early stages of governance.

  • A clear process for submitting and voting on proposals, ensuring transparency and accessibility.

Why This Matters

The Nodle Network is one of the largest decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs), with millions of smartphones contributing to its IoT-focused ecosystem. By transitioning to DAO-based governance, Nodle aims to:

  • Enhance redundancy and resilience against malicious actors.

  • Empower users to take an active role in shaping the network’s future. Voting should be easy.

  • Set a new standard for voter participation in decentralized systems, with the potential to achieve one of the highest turnouts in crypto governance.

Comments should be debated in GitHub Discussions.

Together, we build a future where the Nodle Network truly belongs to its users. NGP001 is now open for comment, and will be voted on in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!
