Nodle Rewards Migration to ZKsync: Everything You Need To Know

Attention Nodlers - Network Rewards are moving to ZKsync!

Nodle rewards are moving to ZKsync on Ethereum soon! Thanks for your patience as our core team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to move your Nodle rewards over to ZKsync. It’s a big project and we hope you can appreciate the effort it took 😀

IMPORTANT:

  1. The rewards migration process will be underway from Thursday September 26 - Saturday September 28th. Please allow up to 72 hours for it to complete

  2. During this time, rewards will be suspended to allow time for the systems to update to ZKsync.

  3. New rewards will appear on ZKsync (a Layer 2 network on Ethereum) shortly. Please check back soon.

  4. We recommend migrating old NODL tokens from our Polkadot Parachain to ZKsync see the documentation

We know you have A LOT of questions and we’re going to address them all. To start, we’re compiling a set of the most common questions we’ve already received from the community. If you have additional questions, please reach out to us via our community channels on Discord, Telegram or Reddit.

FAQs:

When will the migration be officially complete?

This completes the migration of rewards and the NODL token. Locked token grants will soon be bridgeable to ZKsync, which will complete the ZKsync migration. The full migration should be completed by Saturday September 28th.

When can I expect all my rewards to be on ZKsync?

The core team is projecting to be done within 72 hrs or by Saturday September 28th. Follow us on X to get the latest updates.

How will I know I’m on ZKsync and my rewards are being captured there?

The Nodle app allows you to switch between Polkadot and ZKsync from the address toggle on the top left corner. Addresses on ZKsync are Ethereum addresses and all start from 0x. This is the easiest way to know on which network you are on.

In the Mission tab, the middle tab, you should see the Nodle Mission with all the rewards being captured on ZKsync.

Where can I go with any questions I have before, during or after the migration?

As always, if you have a question, comment or idea - please reach out to us on socials or in our Discord, Telegram or Reddit communities. We’re building the future of Nodle and Click with you!

Is Nodle completely ending its relationship with Polkadot?

Nodle is migrating to ZKsync, a leading L2 on Ethereum. Once the migration is complete all new Nodle rewards will be on ZKsync. The Nodle Parachain will remain online for at least the duration of its lease on Polkadot.

Why did Nodle choose ZKsync?

Nodle’s launch on ZKsync Era enables:

Scalability: By processing transactions off-chain and bundling them into a single transaction, Nodle achieves significant scalability improvements, enabling high throughput and lower transaction fees for consumers and enterprises.

Security: Leveraging Ethereum's robust security model, Nodle ensures the integrity and immutability of transactions while maintaining user privacy through advanced cryptographic techniques.

Interoperability: Nodle's EVM compatibility enhances interoperability across decentralized applications (dApps) and blockchain networks, enabling seamless asset transfer and data exchange between different platforms.

Accessibility: ZKsync makes Nodle’s network accessible to a broader audience of developers and users within the Ethereum ecosystem, DePIN, and beyond.

Furthering Nodle’s commitment to enter the Ethereum ecosystem, Nodle plans to build a ZK Stack hyperchain and natively integrate its ZK technology with ZKsync in the coming months. As a hyperchain, Nodle’s DePIN ecosystem will be able to further increase its decentralization and maximize the benefits received from using the ZK technology available on ZKsync.

Why is this migration beneficial to the Nodle Network?

For a number of reasons..

Integration with Ethereum via ZKsync: The recent integration of Click–using blockchain technology to authenticate digital media, cryptographically signing and logging photos and videos onto Nodle's blockchain–with Ethereum via ZKsync is a significant advancement for the Click app and the Nodle Network. ZKsync, a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, processes transactions off-chain while maintaining the security and decentralization of the mainchain. This integration increases throughput, reduces transaction costs, and enhances scalability and efficiency.

Benefits for Users and Enterprises: For individual users, the integration with Ethereum offers a reliable tool for authenticating content, crucial in combating the spread of misinformation. Furthermore, for media outlets and enterprise customers, Click and Nodle’s transition to ZKsync on Ethereum provides a scalable and cost-effective solution for verifying digital media.

Future Prospects and Interoperability: The integration with Ethereum opens up a world of opportunities for Nodle, Click and other decentralized applications within the Ethereum ecosystem. Developers and users can seamlessly interact with Nodle and Click, enhancing interoperability and accessibility. The Ethereum ecosystem fosters innovation and collaboration, driving adoption across various industries.

Compatibility with Polkadot: Upcoming bridges developed by the Polkadot community on Polkadot Bridge Hub are expected to enhance compatibility between Polkadot and Ethereum. Additionally, the team is developing and getting audited a Nodle specific bridge to transition assets to ZKsync.

In summary, the Nodle Network and Nodle's Click app, powered by ContentSign technology and integrated with Ethereum via ZKsync, establishes a digital trust network, ensuring the authenticity of digital media in a scalable and cost-effective manner. This integration not only benefits individual users but also provides a valuable tool for professionals and enterprises, solidifying Nodle’s position as a leader in media authentication. As technology continues to evolve, Nodle remains committed to empowering trust in the digital age.

What about the Click app? How can I manually move my Click app to ZKsync?

If you’d like to move your Click app to ZKsync, you can do so by following these simple steps:

  • Open the Click app.

  • Tap the “i” info icon in the upper left corner.

  • Tap on “Using Polkadot Mainnet” at the bottom of the screen.

  • Select “Ethereum L2 Mainnet” and tap “Switch.” That's it!

Thanks for being part of our amazing Nodle and Click community! We look forward to building it even stronger with your help!
