NšŸŸ£N JuneĀ Recap

June is in the books and with it so is our first full month of marketing. This has represented a month of spinning up our various content nodes and diving into the realm of spreading awarness of the NšŸŸ£Nnation. There are many positive take aways and some aspects of marketing which we are actively learning from. The activities we have been pursuing are the start of marketing and are in no way the final version.

We encourage feedback from the community on what content and activities you find value in and what either do not move the needle or are added friction to the project. The goal has been and always will be promoting the NšŸŸ£Nnation as a platform that transforms the way projects decentralize. It is a goal we believe in and one that deserves to revolutionize web3 as it largely exists today. In pursuit of that lofty goal we need the feedback of the community, feedback that transcends the interaction metrics we have access to, feedback from diverse community members participating in various blockchain based projects, feedback that comes from those of you who share our vision of what decentralized organizations need to become. Help us shape our message so people and communities can hear and understand the value in the NšŸŸ£Nnation.

Overview of Strategy

Our marketing strategy has been a three tiered approach using three content arms. Each has a targeted audience we are attempting to reach and different strategies we are trying to get our message cross to them.

The first is NšŸŸ£Nlabs as the team behind NšŸŸ£Nnation. This content arm is reserved for product updates, the weekly articles, and official communication. This content has focused on the high level overview of the project and will always serve as the place to catch up on the latest happenings of the NšŸŸ£Nnation. It is aimed at entrenched web3 users and developers as well as being an official forward face of the NšŸŸ£Nnation.

The second is NšŸŸ£Nviral, the delegation started by Gyp and JPN. They began with advertising campaigns and the Voice of the NšŸŸ£Nnation podcast. While the podcast has continued, they have shifted other marketing focuses towards building educational content and towards reaching active participants in the crypto space. They serve as a low barrier to entry point for onboarding those with who interact with DAOā€™s and Defi regularly to the advantages that the NšŸŸ£Nnation can offer the space. Their efforts are being combined with the rest of the teamā€™s effort to maximize the yield on their investment to spreading content about the project.

The last is NšŸŸ£Narmy, the trading group. Their focus is on attracting KOL and influencers to spread awareness about the NšŸŸ£Nnation to traders. This tier is about casting the widest net possible to attract masses of individuals who may not be familiar with the intricacies of proxy contracts. Their focus on quests has a direct financial appeal to potential traders to spread hype and awareness that the project exists.

These content arms will ideally complement each other, allowing the message of the NšŸŸ£Nnation to be spread to developers, future community members, DAOā€™s, and traders thorough content they will be receptive to without mudding the water with marketing to other groups from the same channel.

The Good

Starting with the most obvious, regular communication from the team has been well received! We have been hosting some content almost daily throughout the week, from articles like this one, to the podcast, to AMAā€™s. We have enjoyed the interactions these have brought and have heard mostly good things from the community regarding the bump in content that is present. We will be keeping up a similar content pace going forward.

As an extension of increased content, the weekly articles, podcast, events, and AMAā€™s have hit well over the past month. Each of these will be continued in more or less their current form. While production value will be added we do not see a need to have major changes to any of these.

Each of these brings forward the value NšŸŸ£Nnation brings to the space in a unique lens.

There have been many good discussions on the podcast revolving around the latest happenings in the space. We had an Interview with Toschi, The NON Token, The SEC Lawsuits, Uniswap v4, and Seeking Alpha. Throughout, we aim start a conversation about what the NšŸŸ£Nnation can offer
in the context of recent events in the space and be a welcoming introduction point for people who are not currently familiar with our project.

Weekly team events have been giving insight on the decisions being made and how the protocol is shaping up. We discussed The Marketing Kick Off, The NONbeta to NONnation Transition, The Rebrand with the art team, and The Current State of Marketing. And these were each followed up with an AMA to address questions that were raised. All of those can be found here, here, here, and here in the order above.

All of this strives to raise awareness both externally and to keep loyal followers in the loop regarding the current state and direction of the project. We hope to see them all grow as time goes on.

The Bad

We were bound to not get everything right. We knew going in to marketing that we would try and fail at certain aspects. The NšŸŸ£Narmy Telegram is one aspect that we have not yet gotten right. This is supposed to be the place where traders can talk freely about price, where influencer posts can be shared to be raided, and where memes, stickers, and gifs can flow freely between Bubble Bot messages. We contracted out kickstarting this channel, acknowledging that 1. We as a team failed the first approach in how to run this kind of channel and 2. We did not want to be leading the trading group to keep it separate from the core team.

It has not evolved the way we had hoped. We gave it time to adjust, but it still does not feel organic, and we agree that the direction of it needs to be changed. We are talking internally about ways to change it, but we will need the communityā€™s help with this. We want to know how you envision the space because it where be where current community members get to red pill people who just discovered the project.

Thank you to everyone who commented on this over the weekend in the Discord. It validated the impression we were getting.

The Changes

Aside from the Telegram change discussed above, we plan to tweak how some of our events go in the coming weeks. This past week saw the new schedule roll out, where articles drop Monday to increase interaction and shares, the podcast is on Tuesday and the event is Wednesday. Thursday have the team AMA to follow up on what was discussed at the event and Friday has the NONviral hangout to chat about the events from the week while they are fresh and hot.

In addition to these we will be changing the format of the AMAā€™s. These events will now be held in the Discord instead of Twitter Spaces, and anyone with the Citizens roll can post questions and anyone with the Alphas roll can come up and speak during the stage. We hope this change can lead to longer form conversations that bridge the AMAā€™s while also having them be rightfully focused on active community members. The recording will still be posted for everyone to view afterwards.

We will also be experimenting with different times for some events during the week to accomodate the worldwide audience that follows the project. While the current 4:00 pm UTC drop works for the team it is inconvenient for some time zones. We will be sure to inform everyone with the weekly content calendar that drops on Monday when each event, video, and article will be released.

Wrap-Up

While this first month has been challenging at times, between scheduling recording times that work for time zones 11 hours apart, additional visual and video editing, and scheduling and automating posts and premiers and spaces, it has also been rewarding getting to amplify the benefits of the NšŸŸ£Nnation to the world for the first time. This month has really been about getting into a rhythm of consistent communication and beginning to leverage our tiered strategy to reach as many people as possible. We do not have any plans to stop now. This marks only the first step on this journey. Join us as we step out of the shadows, as we exit stealth mode, and as we lead the crypto space to the NšŸŸ£Nnation.
