TL;DR
My First Album, released in 2017 as a Cassette Tape in Japan just got a 5 Year Anniversary Edition with outtakes, better mixes, remasters, and a 50/50 NFT edition ($MCTAPE), which may be used to claim a phygital Cassette
$MCTAPE Owners have access to free download codes and token-gated content
Holders may claim one of the 10 remaining original cassette tapes and A 10/10 Cassete Tape owner NFT by burning 3x editions
If all 10 tapes aren’t claimed by February 1st of 2023, $MCTAPE holders will decide the future of the tapes in a snapshot vote

Crypto art can be so much more than tokens with profile pictures. When a decentralized network of computers validates the existence of digital art, data takes on the substance of a physical-like object—an object with a combination of properties of the cybernetic and material realms.
This holds space for a new layer of interactivity which has recently been conceptualized as mechanism art. These “mechanisms” can be cybernetic relationships where the smart contracts enable particular on-chain interactivities between art and the person who experiences it. However, an automated interactions doesn’t have to be intrinsic to mechanism art; Only by setting pre-defined rules or parameters the relationships can become social and/or emotional, making them way less predictable.
Inspired to explore how we can apply the latter concept to phygital music NFTs, I’ve decided to experiment with the cassette tape of my first album, “Microscopic Cookbook, which has just turned five years this month. The record was distributed in Japan in 2017 by CHILLMOUNTAIN, at that time, 100 copies were put on sale, they sold out quickly, and we decided to keep some for friends and gifts. Now there are currently 10 remaining copies.
To celebrate the anniversary of the record, I have put out an special edition with outtakes, better mixes, remasters, and an NFT, allowing holders to claim one of the 2017 tapes. However, there is a catch.
50 editions can be minted at 0,022 ETH; to claim one of the tapes, an address needs to burn 3 editions and reedeem a physical tape.
All others $MCTAPE owners can listen & download the album for free, gain access to private content. If the tapes aren’t all claimed after two months, $MCTAPE owners will decide what to do with the remaining tapes via snapshot voting.
Is this the begging of TapeDAO?
