As part of our commitment to the community in keeping Ocelot transparent, we wanted to provide an update to the status of Ocelot’s treasury allocations. Here are the most recent projects Ocelot has contributed toward since our last blog post + community call. If you’re interested in following our progress between updates, you can view links to trackers for funding + transactions, both on our website.
The CGP Editors are a group of volunteers brought together to help define the governance process in more detail for Celo, while also helping to provide support on merging different pull requests.
Their work can be seen here in the very well documented Governance repo: GitHub - celo-org/governance: Governance Repository for Celo
Ocelot is very happy to show a token of appreciation for all the hard work done by the CGP Editors on overhauling the governance process, and helping to document it.
The Caribbean Blockchain Alliance is an NGO dedicated to promoting the adoption of blockchain technology in the region.
Their current main initiative is to help form official student blockchain clubs and unofficial student ambassadors in universities/colleges/trade-schools throughout the Caribbean, plus provide support plus resources for them to become blockchain developers, defi practitioners, NFT artists, and decentralized governance participants.
In addition to building clubs and introducing blockchain curricula to universities, they will also onboard students toward learning Solidity/Truffle smart contract development directly, projects such as Cryptozombies.io and Rabbithole.gg, as well as any role-focused DAOs on Celo so that they can get robust, hands-on experience in an extra-curricular environment, creating true crypto-natives (and ensuring that the universities themselves don't become gatekeepers for crypto content).
We’re excited that this grant will support these efforts of CBA plus fund educational resources & curriculum development for Celo.
Ocelot contributed a total of $150,000 to the CLR quadratric funding matching pools for this round. Specifically, there was $100,000 contributed to the Climate Solutions cause round side matching pool, and $50,000 contributed to the Support for Ukraine cause round side matching pool.
You can read the full Gitcoin Grants Round 13 recap here.
We’re pleased to share the results:
