Fam, this was a week with our heads down focused on getting the upgrade ready for release. Without further ado, let’s get to all the updates from last week and the focus for this week, within the Flixverse!

1] Engineering

  • The testnet upgrade with the latest security & auctions features went smooth last week and released the latest binary. This week, we’d support a proposal that can plan out an upgrade later this month.

  • The protocol team also continued working on what is the fee required for creating a collection on OmniFlix Hub.

  • Efforts on StreamSwap have continued and we’ll have more updates during the course of the week. Below is a status update of the same across teams:

    • StreamSwap contracts are continued to be developed and are now being tested on devnet.

    • Simulations are also being run on a devnet to better understand the model.

    • The design of the app is being worked on while the front-end engineering team has completed the UI setup required for the app.

2] Design & Media Updates

a) Product Design

  • There were updates to the OmniFlix Market app along with coordination with the application engineering team.

  • OmniFlix TV and publishing within Studio were both worked on. This week, the plan is to take community feedback for the apps being worked on.

b) Media

  • With Thanksgiving and Black Friday around the corner, the media efforts will be dedicated towards bringing attention to collections participating in the OmniFlix Mint Fest Campaign.

  • Cosmocon India will be taking place the coming few weeks in India. As a partner to the event, our team will also be building collaterals to promote this event and help bring more Cosmonauts together. More info on this will be releasing soon from our Social Media handles.

3] Governance

Below are governance proposals that were voted on by the OmniFlix Network validator as a part of the operations while validating the below chains/networks.

4] Community Updates

4.1) Events

Community Competition No.1 of IBC Games concluded on November 14. An excellent finale and a great start to Vol 2 Collection launch with new Battle Card designs, more collaboration with other creators and a growing community of IBC Gamers waiting to enter the tournament.

2) OmniFlix MintFest

We are celebrating the Thanksgiving and Black Friday long weekend with MintFest. All you need to do to participate is buy an NFT listed on OmniFlix.Market between Nov 24-28, and we would share our gratitude for taking part and supporting our Creators by dropping a Thank You NFT in your account after the campaign.

And an added bonus, Loads of Creators have listed their NFT Collections on sale - a great opportunity for collectors to add quality NFTs in their portfolio.

4.2) OmniFlix TV

a) #InTheStudio ep. 27 POAP

#InTheStudio is a creator space, held every Friday with the creator community of OmniFlix Network. Participants of the space are eligible to claim a proof of attendance NFT by answering a secret phase announced during the space.

5] Collections on OmniFlix.Market

5.1) Upcoming Collections

a) IBC Game Vol 2 Special Releases - To be released

Volume 2 of Interplanetary Battle Cards, a pvp trading card game is crafted from a Flixverse perspective. The lore and storyline focuses on many key ideas that arise in the OmniFlix ecosystem.

There are new utility mechanics for Vol 2 as well as loads of special / collaboration edition NFTs. Overall, the distribution of Battle Cards NFTs will be as follows.

5.2) Recently Launched

a) Songs of Eden - Released

Omni Owls by @SongsOfEden launched last week, and saw a great first wave of minting from the community. The artwork in this collection is created by using piano as a brush, this way users will be able to hear and keep the Music file with the PFP file they collect.

This new collection by @RILnftart is created around the theme of personal struggle faced by people who suffer from Mental Health issues. She brings designs of flowers in her art, a growing signature marker in the NFTs she creates and collect.

Focus for the current week

1) Protocol Engineering

  • We aim to continue efforts to work on the fee required for collection creation right in the oNFT module.

  • CosmWasm & StreamSwap

    • The plan is to launch an official devnet that can connect to the UI this week.

    • The plan from a simulation standpoint is to ensure we have a clear understanding of the protocol itself.

    • The plan for this week is to add to the documentation. Work on the documentation has started a few days ago and will be released to the wider community in December.

2) Application Engineering

  • The focus for the week is to get the OmniFlix Market app updated and in place with the details.

3) Design

  • The focus for the current week is to update OmniFlix Studio for publishing (aligning with all that’s coming to OmniFlix TV).

  • Coordination between the design and application engineering teams to get the OmniFlix Market UI in place as planned for the upcoming MintFest 2022 campaign.

4) Media

  • The focus is to get the creatives ready for OmniFlix Mint Fest & Cosmocon India.

  • The team aims to create additional collateral for OmniFlix Apps to better explain details of what already exists with OmniFlix.

  • Also, content bytes from Cosmoverse 2022 presentation will continue to be produced.
