Flix Fam, continuing our weekly updates to our stakeholders, we are now ready with Community Update #42. Without further ado, let’s jump right in to know more about the incentivized campaign on FlixNet-4, updates from last week and all that’s being worked on this week.

0] An update on FlixNet-4

  • As mentioned via the official Twitter account, due to immense load on the apps and the testnet, we’ve needed to upgrade the infra and optimize the architecture by a bit.

  • On 24th October, the team requested community members to stop participation in the testnet campaign until further notice.

  • We are happy to inform you that the updates and upgrades are now completed and the apps are functional, better than ever.

  • Regardless, the campaign will start at 9am UTC on 31st October, Monday. The campaign will end on 4th November at 17:00 UTC, compensating for the days that the community members were asked to wait until a better experience was deployed.

  • There are faucet updates (to claim FLIX tokens on FlixNet-4) that are pending and will be completed by 29th October or sooner but if you already have FLIX, you can try the apps to see if they work well for you.

Important Points to Note 👇

If you already completed the campaign before 9am UTC on 31st October, you do NOT need to do anything after the campaign resumes.

If you wish to complete activities before 9am UTC on 31st October, you can do that and your participation will still be considered valid.

  • Leaderboard for campaign participants is also now live for folks to refer. You can connect your Keplr wallet on OmniFlix Studio (on FlixNet-4) and go to Assets > Campaigns and then click on the Leaderboard tab to the top right corner.

1] Engineering

  • Last week’s efforts were primarily on the launch of the testnet campaign on FlixNet-4 and getting the logistics to promote and scale in place.

  • The FlixNet-4 testnet is still functioning and live along with the apps, but the response has been rather slow. This is primarily due to the infrastructure chosen for testnet and is being updated as we write this article. More news on the same will be released via Twitter, Telegram & Discord.

  • The team’s efforts have been focused on StreamSwap and exploring the tooling around CosmWasm further.

  • The application engineering team worked on deployment of a partner app and the internal demos within the movie distribution house went well. More efforts on that this week to maximize adoption.

  • The engineering team also worked on updating the data layer with USD prices with a week’s worth work pending for internal review. Next week, we aim to have further developments around the use of USD values within the market.

2] Design & Media Updates

2A) Product Design

  • The past week’s focus was primarily around brainstorming and re-design of OmniFlix TV v2. Internal reviews are on-going and additional details will be shared with the community as and when they are ready.

  • Other areas of focus for the product design team was to collate all feedback received during the FlixNet-4 campaign and consolidate them for review - engineering-wise or UX/design-wise.

2B) Media

  • Most of the efforts were focused on publishing independent videos on the Cosmoverse HQ YouTube channel.

  • Creatives for partner campaigns and upcoming NFT drops have also been an area of focus for the media development team. Will mostly continue this week as well.

  • Along with the above, creatives for planned campaigns continue.

3] Community Updates

3.1) OmniFlix TV

a) Quest 4 Tendermind - OmniFlix | Strange things Halloween

Tendermind - The 4th quest for NFT holders of the Tendermind collection is live on OmniFlix TV. Holders of this collection have also been dropped Strange Things NFTs, which have a clue for the quest below.

b) Elephants Of Sri Lanka | WildFlix NFT Collection

From the island country of Sri-Lanka comes WildFlix v1.0, a wildlife Elephants photography collection on OmniFlix.Market

Creators of this collection have come up with an educational interactive video on different species of elephants. Participants who answer all the questions accurately will be dropped WildFlix badges - a key to access upcoming features like WildFlix TV and NFT drops.

c) Seilor Of Sei Network | NFT Drop | Atlantis Career Growth

A project from one community to another! Seilor community members created an interactive video for their members to take part in, and the rules were simple: answer the questions accurately and be eligible for a Seilor NFT drop, a badge of community participation.

3.2) Activities by Flix Fanatics

(Community and Marketing subDAO on OmniFlix.market)

  • Flix Fanatics Quiz #21 - Last week’s quiz for the community on 23rd Oct was a fun exercise to share information about FlixNet-4. The Flix Fanatics crew makes sure that the quiz also has questions about ongoing activities and some FAQs about new campaigns.

  • Flix Quest (13-22 Oct’22) focused on having more members of the Flix Fam try out Frontier OmniFlix Market on Cosmostation app. 3 winners from the participants were rewarded NFTs from the Interchain Poker Club collection on OmniFlix Market.

4.1) Upcoming Collections

a) SpiderHumans - Collectible NFTs (To be launched)

Creators of Goblin Frenz are coming up with an other collection called SpiderHumans, If you are a Goblin Holder you may get eligible for the airdrop and whitelist spot for presale of Spider Humans.

b) Flix Fanatics Halloween special - Collectible NFTs (To be launched)

Keeping the Halloween spirit high, Flix Fanatics will be launching a collection in association with Fantastical Animals and Chaotic skulls.

a) Strange Things - Collectible NFTs (Launched)

Halloween is around the corner and creators of OmniFlix are launching NFTs around this theme. First in line is Strange Things, a collection from How rare is your cosmos.

Focus for the current week

1) Protocol Engineering

  • The protocol engineering team’s efforts this week revolve around getting the oNFT & the marketplace modules ready for mainnet deployment. There’s on-going testing and will be thoroughly checked before publishing the first proposal on the OmniFlix Hub’s mainnet.

  • This week’s CosmWasm efforts are also directed towards developing a simulation model around what’s required for testing the StreamSwap model.

2) Application Engineering

  • This week’s focus is primarily to get the campaign on the FlixNet-4 testnet initiated again.

  • The application engineering team is also getting partner implementations in place as required by various creators & enterprise users of the OmniFlix infrastructure.

3) Design

  • The focus will be to have the first draft of OmniFlix TV in place.

  • Along with the above, the information architecture is being planned for OmniFlix Me (flaunt NFTs from across the Cosmos ecosystem) & OmniFlix Nucleus (sovereign publishing platform for web2 & web3 communities).

4) Media

  • The focus is to work on Cosmoverse playlists as a priority & finish up with creatives being worked on with various partners.

5) Community

  • All activities by Flix Fanatics (a part of the Community subDAO within the OmniFlix DAO) will continue and will be published on their blog.
