Hey Fam, we are buidling infrastructure and the tools for creators and communities!

We’re focused on how we can break the mould when it comes the possibilities and applications of NFTs. Following the release of our announcements on our keynote from Cosmoverse 2022, we have been busy with delivering on our roadmap.

Without further ado, let’s dive right into the updates from last week and all that’s to come this week.

1] Engineering

  1. Last week’s focus was primarily around the dragonberry patch and thanks to our validators, we were able to successfully upgrade with a private and a public patch across the network. The latest version of the OmniFlix Hub binary is v0.4.2

  2. From a backend engineering standpoint the data layer now has the capabilities to track USD value of various supported tokens and is ready present data points around royalties, splits, USD values, etc. to enable collectors take a well informed decision.

  3. The front end engineering team has initiated work on Wallet Connect updates to optimize fees being used for transactions.

  4. Efforts around CosmWasm and StreamSwap have continued and this week and hope to see concrete results in 2 weeks.

  5. Continued discussions on the use of CosmWasm are also underway, thanks to the efforts of the blockchain and protocol teams internally.

  6. Efforts to kick start the incentivized testnet with auctions on FlixNet-4 have been initiated. Details will be announced on 20th October, 2022.

2] Design & Media Updates

2A) Product Design

  1. The product design team has focused on the revamped version of OmniFlix TV and is working on the client interfaces (or UI) within OmniFlix TV before moving to updates within OmniFlix Studio for publishing.

  2. A revamp for the enterprise version of OmniFlix Studio was also underway and is being implemented in an existing partner, that’s a Movie Distribution Studio.

  3. We have also received inputs and suggestions from community members like Tangled NFTs (Ness) who shared ideas on how the market should look like.

2B) Media

  1. Cosmoverse 2022 Content Library: After the smashing success of the biggest Cosmos event of the year, which was powered by OmniFlix, we are working with the Cosmoverse Team to bring all the videos for the projects & communities, and yes, they will be available as NFTs.

  2. Cosmoverse 2022 POAP NFTs: If you aren’t over the Cosmoverse 2022 hangover, we are bringing you POAP NFTs soon as a souvenir for witnessing Cosmos in the making. These will be released in the next two weeks to attendees.

  3. The Media & Design team have also been working on creatives that will help the community get a quick summary of Creator & Collection focused updates for the week.

3] Community Updates:

3.1) OmniFlix TV

a) #InTheStudio Ep 21 POAP

  • Participants of OmniFlix weekly creator spaces #InThestudio which happens every Friday at 2pm UTC are eligible for a POAP, all they need to is watch respective episode’s interactive video on alpha.omniflix.tv & enter/choose the secret word when asked.

  • Check out the interactive video here.

  • Secret word for claiming the POAP is announced in the space every Friday at 2pm UTC. Snapshot of the participants and drop of the NFT happens in next 3-4 days.

b) Elephants of Sri-Lanka

  • An educational video on different species of elephants made by creators of WildFlix v1.0 collection. Check out the interactive video here.

  • Users who answered the questions rightly will get a WildFlix NFT badge which also carries several other utilities in future.

3.2) Activities by Flix Fanatics

(Community and Marketing subDAO on OmniFlix.market)

  • Flix Fanatics Quiz #20 - Whether you are an NFT Fanatics, a Cosmonaut in the making or just like taking part in quizzes, here is a space for you. Our last session on Oct 16th, 2022 saw great turnout with members battling for the top spots. The Prize - NFTs from ‘The Sand King - Episode 1’ Collection on OmniFlix Market for the Top Scorer and for 1 Random Participant.

  • For the community & from the community members of Sei Network an NFT drop is expected soon, to claim the NFT one has to participate in an interactive video on OmniFlix TV & answer a few simple questions.

Focus for the current week

  1. Protocol Engineering - Work towards the deployment for auctions to go live on OmniFlix Hub

  2. The Protocol Engineering team will continue R&D on CosmWasm for OmniFlix Hub and StreamSwap

  3. Engineering - Efforts to map USD values for transactions and computation of royalties per Collection/Denom, NFT & account.

  4. Engineering - The focus is on deploying the Campaign page on f4.OmniFlix.studio considering the launch of the incentivized testnet

  5. Design - Designs around OmniFlix Me & OmniFlix TV are the focus for the current week and updates around those will be shared with the wider community.

  6. Media - Publishing Cosmoverse 2022 content to YouTube and other destinations is the highest priority along with other partner based implementations.

  7. Community - Upcoming launches and activities by Flix Fanatics
