Creators can publish across platforms but don’t own their assets across these platforms
Creators can reach billions of viewers but don’t own their subscribers/audience
Creators can monetize in ways unimaginable before, but don’t ultimately own their revenue streams
Most problems in the digital media supply chain revolve around:
Fragmented management of uploads, metadata and rights
Lack of collaboration when execution media workflows
Manual encoding/transcoding/rendering pipelines prone to delays
Disjointed distribution via CDNs with inconsistent / uneven performance
Opaque monetization often leading to creators accepting whatever they get
These inefficiencies drive up costs and slow down time‑to‑market.
They underscore the need for a purpose‑built infra layer that unifies media management, distribution and monetization.
To smash the above and increase the monetization potential for creators and their media, to provide real earning opportunities for node hosts, we present to you, the OmniFlix Media Node.
The OmniFlix Media Node is our answer to the fragmented state of media infrastructure. It’s a decentralized, peer-to-peer node designed to handle the entire lifecycle of media content—from storage and encoding to distribution and monetization.
The OmniFlix Media Node sits at the heart of our infra layer, handling distributed storage, on‑demand encoding/transcoding and multi‑destination or multi-endpoint delivery. By integrating various functionalities into a single node, we’re providing a comprehensive solution that empowers creators and communities.
Decentralized storage backed by IPFS and CDN‑style hot storage
Video Encoding into chunks for optimal delivery
Adaptive bitrate transcoding for seamless playback on any device
RTMP ingress and multi‑destination egress engines
On‑chain registry for node discovery, performance tracking and leasing
The OmniFlix Media Node, an integral part of the OmniFlix Network, offers various benefits to stakeholders involved but esp. to Node Operators and Publishers/Creators.
Let’s take a quick look at some of them!
Node Operators:
Increase revenue by leasing the Media Node to various creators
Promote your own node and engage in longer term deals to keep it leased 100% of the time
Earn rewards on OmniFlix Hub mainnet for serving creators
In future, contribute to pooled resources to increase resource utilization
Engage in 1:1 deals with projects/creators & media organizations and exclusively offer the media node
Publishers / Creators
streamline content management internally within the org
integrate with existing publishing platforms and of course, OmniFlix.tv
run your own OTT-platform / publishing platform for your community, with the OmniFlix Media Node as the base and your own UI
monetize with ads or gated subscription platforms built wiht the Media Node as the base
The private repository of the OmniFlix Media Node is on GitHub and invitations have been sent to the people that registered to participate in the FrameFest incentivized testnet and also to creators that are keen on testing the infra.
Below is the roll out strategy for the release of the Media Node, marking the genesis of the OmniFlix Media Node Network. This is structured into 3 phases:
Where individual node hosts run standalone nodes for managing their own media workflows or engage in a rental/leasing deal with a creator off-chain.
Currently live with multiple node hosts are already powering their streams using the OmniFlix Media Node
Leased Nodes enable Publishers/Creators to lease node capacity over defined periods, with transactions (or leases) settled in $FLIX tokens.
Currently live with multiple creators have been given an exclusive access to test and try out the media node and this includes:
Kris from FightFarmBetz with their Karate Combat Streams in collaboration with Podocasts
This is a game-changer phase for OmniFlix Network to provide real solutions to real problems that real people have and not something that we created after web3 came about.
This is a model where there isn’t just one node but a cluster
Node Operators can pool resources, enabling dynamic load balancing and enhanced monetization opportunities while Creators receive access to shared (or even un-used) infra rather than dedicated infra making it multi-fold cheaper to use this infra.
Look no further!
4/20 (April 20th) marks the beginning of FrameFest, an incentivized Media DePIN testnet to demonstrate the potential of the media stack and the interactions between Media Node Hosts, Creators and Viewers.
The testnet has a pool of 250,000 FLIX in rewards for the stakeholders involved and also for content creators, creating content around the Media DePIN infra and the OmniFlix Media Node.
