The Ancient Apocalypse

More than 300 million years ago four ancient gods named Nanna the Conqueror of Darkness, Helios the Luminousness, Geb the Originator of Terra and Nut Ruler of the Atmosphere, traveled the universe to find a perfect place to create their own world.

The 4 ancients had a dream and that was to create their own planet to experiment with new life forms. During their search for the location, they took things from every existing planet they passed. When they finally found the perfect galaxy, they combined their powers to create a liveable world and called it the Earth. They sprinkled the earth with spores and seeds and various DNA strains that they found in the farthest corners of the universe. The gods immediately knew that it would never be enough to just stop here and wait, because the earth was an empty and cold place, so they decided to continue combining their powers to ensure that life would arise on earth.

Helios ensured that every day the sun shines its warm rays on the earth creating sunlight and heat during the day. Together with Nut they created four different seasons of weather, temperature, and day-night cycles on the earth. Nanna contributed to this cycle too, she used her powers every day to pull the bright moon across the dark sky. Geb took control of the direction of everyone’s elements, so together they created the sea, mountain, ice walls, lakes, clean air, plants, and fertile land. Now the spores and DNA strains could do their job.

After thousands of years the first animals emerged, the four gods were proud of what they had created together, but they wanted more. They continued to experiment with the collected DNA until the first human forms emerged.

In the millions of years after the first creation, there was a period in which everything went according to plan for a long time. They helped to evolve the humans by bringing them tools and knowledge about many things such as surviving, reproduction, architecture and hunting.

The 4 gods agreed to let evolution do their job and decided to travel further into the universe in search of new seeds and DNA samples to be able to do even more experiments on their created world.

Suddenly there was a global event where meteorites fell down from the universe everywhere on earth. There was one giant meteorite that hit the Antarctic ice wall, causing the walls to melt. The melting of the ice made the sea levels rise by at least 40 meters. At that moment the temperature drastically declined and created an ice age, called the younger dryas.

The ancient gods that went on their mission to collect more DNA were so proud of their work, they completely forgot about the cycles that were needed to sustain life on earth.

During this long period there was a mass extinction of life on earth for humans, animals, and plants. And eventually most of the life that was created by the four gods died because of the long lasting ice age.
