The NFT Bucharest Warm-Up was a highly anticipated event that took place in Bucharest, Romania on March 10, 2023.
The event brought together different players in the NFT industry to showcase their projects, network, and discuss important topics in the NFT world.
The event was marketed as a warm-up in anticipation of the main event scheduled for autumn, but it felt more like a marathon, to say the least. Nevertheless, it had a full house, with over 350 participants coming to learn more about the NFT space and to listen to what the most important players in the Romanian ecosystem had to share about their projects, regulatory issues, and innovations in the industry.
The event featured a range of speakers from different backgrounds, including entrepreneurs, artists, investors, and legal experts. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from their experiences and ask questions during the panel discussion.
The discussions centered around the future of NFTs, the challenges facing the industry, and the opportunities available for growth. Speakers shared insights on how NFTs can be used in different sectors such as gaming, art, and music among others.
One of the highlights of the event was the showcase of different NFT projects. Attendees had an opportunity to see some of the most innovative and creative NFT projects in the industry. The projects ranged from gaming NFTs to art and music NFTs as well as NFT marketplaces.
The networking opportunities were abundant, with attendees making valuable connections and discussing potential collaborations. Many attendees left the event feeling excited and inspired about the future of NFTs in Romania and beyond.
Although all the speakers and their talks were inspiring, to say the least, I want to give a big and public shout-out to:
My wife, @amstel54, and her incredible passion for AI art. I am so proud of her achievement of being chosen by the organizers and the Romanian Postal Service to have her art printed as a postcard at the event, next to the art of @TammyLovin_. The Post had an activation stand at the event where participants could send a postcard to someone dear, on the spot, directly from the event.
There were 150 copies of both artworks, and they were all sent.
@DubluDe deserves a shout-out here too for his efforts in making the postcards look better than anything I've seen so far.
Maybe we can bring the habit of sending postcards back. While writing this, I already have some thoughts on how we can do this. Mr. Valentin Stefan (Posta Romana CEO), we need to talk!
Jeff and the entire CowCow squad present. Their energy combined with their booth and activation made me like them from the second we met IRL.
They are some cool dudes with a great vibe and energy. They know how to make an entrance and shift the spotlight on their project. I am so proud to be the holder of a CowCow. #GMoo frens! Looking forward to meeting you again IRL.
AndreiV for his different view over NFTs. Coming to an NFT event and stating that most of the NFTs out there are shit requires a big set of cojones. If I have to pick one talk that I loved the most, it will be Andrei's.
We want to see more of that fren! Articulated, funny, and making a point is a great recipe for a successful talk. And you don't see very often developers coming on stage to talk about NFTs! So again, impressive!
Sorin Anagnoste and Sorin Nita are the kind of teachers that, I promise, every one of us would have loved to have during our university times. The drive, the understanding of the changed paradigm, and the passion for doing things in a future-oriented way almost made me want to go back to school. You are doing a great job guys, and Romania needs more and more educators like you. Seeing and listening to you sparked back my hope for Romania. Hats-off gentlemen!
Irina Raicu! Now, stop reading this and go check: irinaraicu.com. Good! Now that you are back, I am sure you can understand why I was mind-blown about her art and her speech on AI-generated art and neural networks. I told my wife a couple of times during the event that she had to go and connect with Irina. You are a top artist, Irina, and I am very happy to have had the opportunity to listen to and meet you IRL.
Now I want to bring the spotlight on the other great humans I got to meet and connect with IRL during the event:
Andi Stoica, the Project Manager for eSports and Innovation at FC Rapid 1923. The work he and his team are doing for bringing one of the most renowned football clubs in Romania into Web3 is something that I can relate to and admire very much. Thank you for the great talk, and we should keep in touch! Nice to have met you, fren!
Andrei Stoica from Giants. It was great to see you again, and thank you for our great conversation. #probablynothing
Adam - from Stramosii and a MultiversX maxi. We had a great talk about the event in Craiova and some applications that could be built on MultiversX. We need to continue these. Great meeting you!
Daniel (@manifestors.music) - I don't even know where to start with telling you how much I admire Daniel and how happy I am to have connected IRL. Can't wait to share with you our project, and I will be grateful AF we could collaborate.
Moving to the appreciation section, I want to thank the following people/entities for making @NFT_Bucharest such a success:
The Metaventis contributors.
The Metaventis community.
The Sponsors: XOXNO, CowCow, Creative Tim, Humans.ai, Tokero, Cryptocoin.pro, Ludo, Hypercent
Partners: Oveit, Aleph Business, Fabiz, and SubcarpatiOG.
Everyone present! Seeing the interest and the house full of people give me the chills even now, three days after the event. You guys rock!
The volunteers! You helped us make everyone's experience a great one. You were top! Hope we made you more curious about this space, and that it will be something that you will continue to educate yourselves about. Thank you for all your efforts, and I hope you also managed to have some fun!
@SBucharest for helping us with all the necessary to deliver this event and to do it most professionally.
@DaniBAXC for being a top player and the chief party officer. Dani was the one that helped with organizing the NFT Bucharest Warm-Up After Party.
And of course, such a great event could not have finished without an after-party. The event was closed by one of the most renowned music bands in Romania, the Subcarpati, which were the first band that put out an NFT collection and got into Web3. We couldn't ask for more.
But the night was still young, so we all went to the FACE Club Bucharest, where we partied as hard as we (still) could. I got home at 6.30 AM, and this should say enough about how great the after-party was. Thanks, @DaniBAXC once more for making all the necessary arrangements!
Overall, the NFT Bucharest Warm-Up was a success. The event brought together different players in the industry and provided a platform for networking and sharing ideas. It was an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the NFT world and see some of the most innovative NFT projects.
The main event is coming this fall, and believe me, you don't know what's coming. You didn't for this Warm-Up either.
And as always, I will leave you with this:
Love people and use things, because the opposite never works - The Minimalists.
