Hey there! I just got back from an incredible two weeks at Devcon Southeast Asia 2024 and ETHGlobal Bangkok, and I had to share what an amazing experience it was.
This trip wasn’t just about attending my first Devcon—it was also my first time traveling to Southeast Asia! Huge shout-out to the Ethereum Foundation for making this possible by selecting me as part of their Ethereum Scholars cohort.
From the moment I landed, it was go-go-go. Devcon was a whirlwind of talks, workshops, and side events. I honestly lost count of how many sessions I attended, but each one gave me so much to think about. Whether it was Vitalik talking about Ethereum’s future or a workshop on restaking, every moment left me inspired.
And it wasn’t just about soaking in knowledge. The side events were next level—think late-night chats about zk-rollups over Thai street food and impromptu brainstorming sessions with builders from across the globe. There’s so much to process that I feel like my brain’s been on overdrive (in the best way possible).
One of the best parts of this trip was reconnecting with old friends and partners. Devcon felt like a massive family reunion, where you finally get to meet all those people you’ve been collaborating with online.
At the same time, I met so many new faces—builders, thinkers, and dreamers who are all pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with Ethereum. My inbox is still overflowing with follow-ups, but that’s a good problem to have, right?
Seeing 12,000 people come together in one place to share ideas, build, and collaborate blew my mind. It’s hard to describe what it feels like to be surrounded by so much passion and innovation. If I wasn’t bullish on Ethereum before (spoiler: I already was), this trip would’ve sealed the deal.
For me, this wasn’t just about soaking in the community vibes—it was about reaffirming the mission we have at ETH Bucharest: to create real-life utility with blockchain and make a positive impact.
After Devcon, I jumped right into ETHGlobal Bangkok, and wow, what an experience. Watching developers dive into hacking sessions and seeing projects come to life in real-time was inspiring.
Speaking of hackathons, I’m excited to share that ETH Bucharest 2025 is officially happening from 2-5 April 2025 at an incredible venue in Bucharest.
The hackathon registrations are now open, and we’re inviting everyone who’s passionate about Ethereum and blockchain to join us.
You are all invited and make sure to join our comms list to keep up to date with all future announcements.
This trip was truly life-changing, and I owe a huge thank you to the Ethereum Foundation for making it happen. The scholar cohort was full of amazing people, and I’m so grateful for the chance to share this experience with them.
To sum it all up: these two weeks were packed with learning, connecting, and growing. It was the perfect way to wrap up a year that’s been all about traveling, meeting incredible people, and diving deeper into Ethereum.
If you want to see the day-to-day highlights, I kept a mega thread during the trip—feel free to check it out.
Let’s keep building, and here’s to more adventures in 2025! 🚀
