Welcome to the P12!

Project Twelve, as we refer to it as P12 in short, is an upcoming GameFi platform that allows Web2 and Web3 to co-exist together in harmony in a truly sustainable economy. Many gaming companies and gaming platforms plan to build their metaverse ecosystem. Still, we noticed challenges that both traditional gaming giants and blockchain veterans cannot fill.

Metaverse is the ultimate gaming experience where players can interact with and do anything they can think of inside the game world. In a sense, it is fated to have a full-fledged economic system that depends on the growing GDP of the platform economy first, then applies fiscal and monetary policies. But unfortunately, centralized commercial companies do not provide true assets ownership and are simply unable to offer enough content supply for ever-increasing demand from players. In addition, they focus on maximizing their revenue instead of user experience and sustainability of player assets. They are biased on their own main game (or IP), increasing entry- barriers to new developers.

What is P12?

P12 is a GameFi platform where all players can interact in harmonic and sustainable co-existence. We serve as infrastructure and are neutral to all newcomers who want to succeed in building their games. Developers have the freedom to focus on the highest-quality content, and players are not forced to own any assets to play games on the P12 platform. We are creating powerful but easy-to-use game editors for user-generated content and base our economy on the concept of meritocracy, where fun and unforgettable experiences should be incentivized, great developers rewarded, and bad apples punished while protecting the users.

In the simplest terms, P12 is empowering metaworlds. We are developing an open platform with developer tools (game editor based on Unreal Engine) and infra services (runtime, servers, marketplace, storefront, community, etc.) to give developers the ultimate freedom to create amazing games.

For users, we provide security and a sustainable economy. Our goal is to attract traditional players (web2 users) to our platform where they are not forced to buy assets or NFTs and can still enjoy thousands of games from the portfolio. These users often make purchases in the game purely because they want to have fun, and we can see that as a normal behavior with PC/Console/Mobile games. On another spectrum, we have GameFi players (web3 users) who love to play games, like to own NFTs and digital assets, and believe in growing their portfolio over time. A truly sustainable model is when we can let both web2 and web3 users co-exist in harmony.

Why is the project called P12?

One of the most common questions we get is why the project is called "Project Twelve?" Twelve has many special meanings.

It symbolizes neutral, lawful, unbiased. Our philosophy of creating a GameFi platform focuses on being neutral to developers and users, and instead, rewarding them for good behavior and punishing (lawful) those who try to manipulate the ecosystem. We are unbiased towards new/old developers since we position ourselves as architecture with tools for developers to create amazing and host amazing games and players to coexist in harmony.

It is recognized by all cultures and languages, and this is another philosophy that we believe in, having a multi-cultural team from all over the world to build something truly exceptional. As of this post, we have team members based in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Poland, China, and the USA, and we are always for international talents to join our amazing team. Twelve is always a repeating concept, some examples:

  • 12 is a superior highly composite number, divisible by 2, 3, 4, and 6.
  • Ishmael - the first-born son of Abraham - has 12 sons/princes (Genesis 25:16), and Jacob also has 12 sons, who are the progenitors of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. This is reflected in the Christian tradition, notably in the twelve Apostles.
  • There are 12 months in a year, 12 hours in a half-day, numbered 1 to12 for both the ante meridiem (a.m.) and the post meridiem (p.m.). 12:00 p.m. is midday or noon, and 12:00 a.m. is midnight.

P12 and Concept of Meritocracy

We fully understand that game publishers have total control in a traditional model, increasing economic inflation over time and mistrust between developers and users. In the GameFi model, developers don't have access to powerful building tools and sustainable economics. We solve both problems with our token economy (which I will explain soon, but here is a hint: web2 & web3 co-existence plays an important role) and our powerful game editor with full access to architecture. P12 will always stay neutral. We reward good, punish bad. Creators want to focus on producing the highest quality content and offer high liquidity (good behavior) for which they will be rewarded with tokens, promotions, and a large number of users. Bad behavior? Users will have the power to use their governance vote to punish developers, liquidate developer rewards, and ensure that users can cash out before acting in a bad-faith developer.
