Archiving Cyberspace: How Blockchain Records & AI Filtration Can Preserve a Digital Era

With so much human activity taking place online, archiving the age in which we live has become a challenge. Blockchain and AI can help in developing new data storage standards, selection and search for mega-datasets.

Hamad Al Mutairi, the director of the Archives Department at the National Archives of the UAE. He joined the National Archives in 2009. He is an IT professional and enthusiast with practical experience in strategic planning and risk management. Hamad is a member of the Programs Committee in the International Council on Archives and holds an IT master’s degree in cyber security and a bachelor’s degree in computing and information systems.
