We are pleased to announce the fifth cohort of Prezenti Grants. It continues to be extremely exciting to see projects old and new thriving in the Celo ecosystem. Here is a rundown of the latest projects to sign contracts with us.
We have funded a total of 34 projects since opening in mid-October 2022 and have had over 126 applications!
This is the second group of grants that have been funded since our second Celo governance proposal. We are still looking for more applicants, if you would like to apply or know of a team that is the right fit for Celo’s mission. Apply here
Nerve Network
NerveNetwork is an asset relay network connecting multiple blockchains, a 0 gas blockchain.
NerveNetwork aims to connect all isolated blockchains and establish a cross-chain asset exchange network, providing all necessary underlying support for DeFi ecosystem.Let every digital asset holder experiences a truly secure, free and transparent DeFi application service.
Nerve Network is doing an integration to support cross chain liquidity between Celo and Nerve. This will allow Nerve Network to support Celo assets and all the Celo blockchain based assets cross chain to the other 26+ supported blockchains on NerveBridge.
DappLooker
Dapplooker aims to build a dapp called Celo Analyzer. This project aims to integrate Celo network data and create a comprehensive and reliable set of visual insights for the Celo network. The visualizations will provide users with a one-stop-shop for all their monitoring needs, including wallet analytics and network analytics. By bringing together a wide range of key metrics in one place, users can make more informed decisions about their participation in the network, ultimately driving greater usage and liquidity on Celo.
Sargo
Sargo is a decentralized protocol (dapp) for swapping between stablecoins and smaller African and Asian currencies; starting with cUSD to Kenyan Shilling. Sargo is designed to make it easy to cash in/out small amounts (sub $20) on a daily basis by swapping directly with others. All you need is an M-Pesa and Metamask account.
Prezenti will enable Sargo to: build the dApp; improve encryption; test transactional staking, improve messaging, get legal support and generally prepare Sargo for initial testing by a range of distribution partners. In addition to larger distribution partners, the dApp will enable Sargo to be deployed with a range of smaller communities by enabling various DeFi, UBI to Gaming communities to interact with Sargo using their chosen wallet.
Arttribute
Arttribute aims to address the growing prevalence of AI-generated art by empowering artists and offering transparent and ethical usage of artwork in generative AI models. The goal is to provide tools that cater to the needs of artists, AI enthusiasts, and practitioners, providing them with a seamless and ethical way to collaborate and promote fair and transparent usage of artwork.
BitGifty
Bitgifty is an innovative crypto gift card platform that enables users to send and receive crypto as gift cards via email. Users can easily create and redeem crypto gift cards in just a few clicks, sending cUSD, Celo, Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and other coins as gift cards.
With BitGifty, users can receive crypto directly in their email without worrying about wallet addresses. Not only can users receive crypto gifts seamlessly, but they can also either convert the gifts to Naira directly to their bank account or spend the gift right on the platform.
BitGifty provides its users with the option to pay for their daily utilities using their crypto gifts, such as data, airtime, cable TV, and electricity bills.
Procision
Procision aims to solve the problem of the increasing number of payment options available to consumers, including multiple currencies, loyalty points, and digital tokens. Their solution provides retailers with a single platform to manage pricing and transactions for all types of payments and redemptions, reducing the need to navigate multiple silos to set prices across the board.
In addition, they help address climate remediation by enabling consumers to retire carbon pollution through everyday retail purchases or loyalty redemptions. Their platform also provides an auditable way for retail businesses to contribute to climate remediation efforts.
They plan to integrate Celo tokens into our product to enable customers to pay for products with Celo or a white-labeled Celo coin. Customers will also receive Celo coins as rewards for their purchases, thereby promoting the use of Celo beyond its climate benefits.
ReFi MedellĂn
They are a movement dedicated to creating a more sustainable and equitable future in MedellĂn.
Their goal is to foster community discussions around regenerative-oriented-innovations (ROIs) enabled by Web3 and empower the city's youth to address some of its most pressing challenges through hackathons, incubation, and investment. These challenges include poverty, inequality, youth unemployment, and the lack of access to basic resources such as energy, water, sanitation, housing, and education.
