We are pleased to announce the sixth cohort of Prezenti Grants. It continues to be extremely exciting to see projects old and new thriving in the Celo ecosystem. Here is a rundown of the latest projects to sign contracts with us.
We have funded a total of 43 projects since opening in mid-October 2022 and have had over 142 applications!
This is the third group of grants that have been funded since our second Celo governance proposal. There is one more cohort still pending contract signings….. Stay tuned for an additional post soon about what has been achieved by us, by the amazing grantees and the future of Prezenti.
TeleportDAO Bridge
Teleport Bridge is a light client bridge between Celo and Ethereum, It is a part of Teleportdao which is a trustless interoperability protocol. So far, they have built a bridge between Bitcoin and EVM chains, they are now live on Polygon. They will soon launch their light client bridge between Bitcoin and Ethereum. As a team, they have built applications on top of their live bridge:

TeleOrdinal(https://teleordinal.xyz) which is a decentralized marketplace for Ordinals.
They also have TeleBTC that is a decentralized wrapped Bitcoin on Polygon
ReFi Kenya Event
ReFi Kenya is a three-day event which is taking place this September in Nairobi, Kenya. The event will draw together the youth, corporations, land stewards and technology developers to celebrate the burgeoning ReFi movement in Kenya. ReFi kenya 2023 will be hosted by Shamba network. This is the 2nd event that the team have produced, the first being in 2022 and Celo was also a sponsor.
Clixpesa
Clixpesa is an effort to build a borderless, customer-centric, all in one platform to serve as a trusted companion to manage and grow money while giving back control to users. By simplifying web3 for the less tech and financial savvy, they intend to increase utilization of financial products across sub-Saharan Africa. The “take it or leave it” approach to financial products and pricing has locked out many, especially in the informal sector, from enjoying the benefits of current financial trends. Many in the informal sector underutilize these products due to high learning curves, costs and the commitment involved. While making payments is easy, participating in mediums that expose them to cheap lines of credit and saving pools still has high friction.
They know that making and receiving payments is not enough to build financial resilience and inclusion. Designing services that improve payments to make them safe, cheap, and fast while enabling alternative lines of credit, debt management and connecting individuals into saving pools will highly improve involvement.
Mentors Collective
Empowering Celo projects through mentorship. Bridging the gap between aspiring Celo entrepreneurs and seasoned experts, providing transformative mentorship sessions that equip Celo startups with actionable insights, bolstered confidence, and tailored guidance, propelling them towards success in the dynamic blockchain landscape. Informed by their engagement in Celo Camp and insightful discussions with Prezenti, they've identified a pressing need: despite strong technical foundations, many Celo projects lack strategic finesse in areas like go-to-market strategies, UX optimization, funding plans, and product strategies. Their mentorship program addresses this gap by offering curated mentors, hands-on advice, and a trusted environment, empowering these projects to navigate the growth and traction phase with streamlined access to the expertise they require.
