When I was building out my vision for PRST’s content strategy I decided against doing a traditional blog. With The Weekly PRST, our email newsletter, the three podcast shows, and our YouTube channel I felt like a blog would have been overkill.

But, then I read how Bobby Hundreds was blogging on-chain and it inspired me to give a blog a second thought. I’ll never claim to be the originator of all of my content--I often get inspiration from those I look up to and then determine how I can do it in my way. Bobby is someone I’ve admired for a little over a year. Truthfully, it wasn’t until I found my inner creator that I started exploring worlds outside of what I already knew, which included streetwear. Bobby’s book, This Is Not A T-Shirt was the inspiration behind the first PRST sweatshirts, tees, and hats. I’ve always loved brands and wanted to create my own lifestyle brand and after reading the book, I ordered my first round of hoodies, tees, and hats and launched a store on my personal website www.justincastelli.io. Looking back This Is Not A T-Shirt was instrumental in the company PRST has become today and will grow into in the future. If I never started the PRST lifestyle brand I’m not sure I would have thought to create something bigger for the brand.

Ok, Back to the why for this blog…

A blog on our SquareSpace website doesn’t excite me. However, being early (not first obviously) to blogging on-chain, well that excites me. I like to be innovative and try new things. A blog on Mirror may not look different than a blog on SquareSpace to me it is an exploration in a new way to share information. To me, it feels special and exciting…and on your Pursuit sometimes you just need to do things for yourself.

I plan to find creative ways to keep PRST ahead of other brands, especially when it comes to the adoption of Web3 technologies. PRST already has a crypto wallet for NFTs that represent the brand (prst.eth), I plan to have NFT collaborations with artists and photographers (and who knows, maybe create my own), and would love to one day have a PRST token that can be used within the community. A Mirror.xyz blog is just the first step toward building PRST for the future.

Carefully Planned (Until This)

So far with PRST I’ve planned out the content strategy well before launching anything. Historically, that’s not how I moved--I usually get an idea and run with it, going back later to clean things up and figure out how I’ll actually implement. I can be impulsive with my ideas. I felt PRST was special enough to tame some of my impulsiveness and take my time…

Well, this blog was 100% impulsive.

I got the idea about a week ago. Did some research. Talked to a couple of friends. Listened to Bobby Hundreds on Rally Rd.’s “The Best Money I Ever Spent” with my pal Rob Petrozzo and immediately set up my account upon finishing the episode. I was inspired and did not want to wait.

What To Expect

I don’t know if there will be a regular cadence to writing on here. With the daily podcasts and weekly newsletter, I have a pretty high content creation load in addition to my full-time career as a financial advisor.

I do know this won’t be a one and done blog--I have plenty to share.

I plan to write about the story of PRST, the vision, announce updates, and write about my thoughts around passion, how to incorporate it in your life, how to think about your finances on your Pursuit, and other thoughts that relate to PRST.

I’m excited to see where this blog goes and am thankful to have you along for on my Pursuit.
