Since the advent of Bitcoin and the broader crypto movement, the potential for these technologies to address some of Africa's most pressing issues has been evident. Crypto has the power to drive significant social change and progress. Yet while we are excited about the prospects of crypto for Africa. There have been fewer homegrown and home-built solutions to address some of the continent's challenges. In terms of building and leveraging crypto to solve key problems, Africa pales in comparison to other parts of the world. Africa has not yet had its crypto-builder moment!

A lack of funding is a significant barrier to this progress. Traditional funding sources have fallen short, and public good funding within the crypto space, despite catalyzing significant builder activity and innovation globally, has yet to make a substantial impact on the African continent. We want to believe that the current climate where lots of African projects are not able to access Public Good Funding in the crypto space is a bug and not a feature, a Moloch phenomenon, a coordination failure between various Public Good Funding initiatives and the projects in Africa. If there is one thing we have come to believe, is this - “Crypto is a DIY technology”, built on the principle of empowering people to effect the change they want to see. Crypto is a force for GOOD, but to fully realize its potential, it requires deliberate, coordinated action.

So today, We take a deliberate action. We are thrilled to announce the launch of Public Good Africa. We signal a new age of Regen, Public Good, and Social Impact powered by crypto for Africa where coordination is effortless.

Public Good Africa is a commitment to deliberate action:

✅A deliberate attempt to nurture a fertile ground that empowers people to build impact and drive positive change throughout Africa and the world.

✅A deliberate attempt to become a platform where innovation, funding, and collaboration come together to fuel the engine of progress and amplify the impact of builders.

At the heart of what we are building are Impact Africa Connect and Fund.

Impact Africa Connect is a platform designed to connect African projects with public good funding opportunities. We offer guidance and support to help these projects apply for grants and partnerships that can enhance their impact and reach.

Impact Africa Fund is a bridge between donors and promising African projects targeting positive social changes. It aims to democratize and decentralize funding, breaking down barriers and creating a fluid connection between projects and donors. The platform will host funding rounds presenting a unique space for donors to discover, support, and contribute to projects.

Crypto has provided a grass-root global coordination layer for social change. The rise of Public Good and Public Good funding is a testament to how democratizing access to funding can be used to drive innovation and positive change in places that matter. We believe that Public Good Africa can serve as a catalyst in this process, stirring innovation and unlocking more impact efficiency for various crypto Public Good funding initiatives.
