Prologue to object oriented political economy of the future / Mantrov’s letter from the russian prison

Preface

In my previous works, which by some lucky chance appeared on the web in last year (f.e. letter #3 from Squared Paper Notebook or my note about Revolution Populi). I stated very unusual thoughts about Flat Economic Systems and cryptocurrencies market. I tried to interpret these phenomena from position of Marxism and object oriented philosophy. Lately I thought that stated thoughts need a detailed commentaries and some corrections. My distance communications with Stefanie, who translated my note about Revolution Populi into German caused this idea in so far as Stefanie. encountered with some difficulties of understanding in the process of translation. But commencing upon certain places from this works, I broached a number of matters because in its absence valuable understanding of my works remained owing the impossibility. So from Fiat Economic Systems and cryptocurrencies market I crossed to description of object oriented ontological model, within the framework of which I was interpreting such phenomena as Power, Money, Metaphysics and production of alienation under  capitalism. I formed the opinion that understanding of these phenomena needs the conception of plural Time. Considerable part of this text was given for it.And, after all I tried as clearly as possible articulate thoughts about unavoidable interruptions in Russian prison.

Formative power in the Dark Universe of objects.

You can remember that in my some previous works descripted confrontation (and undercover complicity) of Fiat Economic Systems with cryptocurrencies market as confrontation (and undercover complicity) between two forces of opposite ontological sides. It looks like very big and not well grounded words. Even with reserve that the question is particular pattern of Ontological Decay in regard to integrity of political and economic formations.

From position of plane ontology and taxonomy in regard of beings/things/objects are groundless. But narration about confrontation (and undercover complicity) of opposite ontological sides suspiciously looks like such taxonomy. Therefore I need to explain that it is nothing of the kind. For this task I must commit to paper my interpretation on phenomena of Formative Power and any economic / political supremacy in the light of object oriented ontology.

Object oriented ontology as is well known regards all of existent like set of discrete objects. Like set of ontological equivalent units of existence which reciprocally devoid of direct access to being-in-itself of each other. Object oriented anthology suppose what objects can come onto various types of relations and forms a new compound objects. But accentuating what isolated being-in-itself of objects never can exhausted by sum-total of its relations.

In this connection I suggest consider phenomenon of Formative Power in the light of compound objects’ forming. Compound objects, which grounded on such types of relations as exploitation, parasitism and obsession between separate objects/things/beings. Compound objects which appears not so much in space as in time. Which strives for self-conservation. And for expansion at the same time.

But for a store we will make an excursion into history of European philosophy.

Frozen Becoming

As a whole in history of European philosophy Nietzsche and Heidegger very equivocal persons. But great importance of certain theirs conceptions is impossible not to admit. First of all I mean thesis about direct close relation between values (as metaphysics production of truths) and exploitation (as realization of will to Power). However theirs intuitions about strategy of Power inside the Time are of interest for us too. As Nietzsche wrote will to Power at highest manifestation strives “to imprint a traits of Being on stream of Becoming/Time”.

I remember these words very often. May be, as far as live in Russia. And can feel as Power is imprinting a traits/features/outlines of soviet and imperial past on stream of Time/Becoming by experience. But I don’t think that Formative Power on the national space is solely work of certain obscurantist people. As far as human beings doesn’t exists in metaphysical vacuum (as thought Kant). Human beings always faded into non-human space. Non-human objects often keep human beings in certain lines. It forms human units and collectives in the capacity of subjects/actors. It is hardware. What do you want from ice desert from the middle of which installed tap flowing with Hydrocarbonic Putrid Money? No wonder that human beings, who once found selves at the tap will erect by all possible means a obstructive infrastructure , which can keep this state forever. Therefore in our part of the world time is never running.

Complicity with darkness

Attentive to detail reader could notice in previous chapters some contradictions. On the one hand I said about existent as about set of discrete units, whose being-in-itself allays withdrawn from direct admission for other units, recalling Graham Harman’s thesis about reciprocal darkness of objects. But on the other hand I am asserting what human subjects are formed by process of material production. That is product of interactions with non-human beings/things/objects. And it looks like some inconsistency. But I am going to wind up this impression. By conception of compound objects production.

What I main problem of human beings? I think that main problem consists in the fact that human beings never have any possibility of direct admission not only to being-in-itself. I is evidently. Our being-in-itself is always clot of impenetrable darkness. We interact to it by language, which make thinking possible. But language itself is object of the outer world.

We perceive ours own bodies in the same capacity too. As objects, whose existence was given to us indirectly by means of sensory instrumental interface.

It is understandable that such state of things cause impossibility of any true knowledge for human beings. Both about ourselves and about the outer world. The only possible move in regard knowledge of ourselves and other units of existent is interaction with these units. Interaction which cause production of new compound objects. For example, right now I participate in forming of new compound object enjoying equal rights participate as well: language by means of that I am thinking squared paper notebook and fountain pen by earns of those I am recording thoughts, some books from my bedside table, which I am quoting and the prison camp where I am serving my sentence. I never understand neither myself nor the outer world of dark discrete objects. But interacting with it I can participate in extraction of new compound objects and types of complicities which never can exhaust this darkness.

I think that it is the basis of not only human knowledge/cognition, but also of biological evolution. Extraction of complicities from darkness. Movement from the one unknown to the other into space of contingency. And I think that Marx meant just such activity in the field of human existence by name of Unalienated Labor. From time to time this phenomenon can show itself in fields of science, art and policy.

But if Marx considered unalienated labor as primordial modules of human existence, I don’t think that this thought is well grounded. Human beings for the most part of one’s own history were oppressed by big compound objects that holds their phenomenological situation of human and non-human beings on big compound objects. On existence in the capacity of its components. That’s mechanics of powerful interactions. Of course, not all compound objects grounded on powerful interactions. But just it is ground of such types of relations as exploitation parasitism and obsession, which always play important part in the Human History. As far as blind intuition of biological survival always keep up such types of relations. In spite of the fact that in this way survival sooner or later appear itself as impossibility of living the Life, as Reza Negarestani wrote.

Whatever happens that ecosystems (as big compound objects), which appeared in contingent way, often strives to close itself for contingent complicity with Plural Darkness of Being. This problem is basis of narration within some chapters of Negarestani’s “Cyclonopedia”. Referring the refer to Polish philosopher Roman Ingarden, Negarestani articulate that Ciosing (Cioture) is priority for Open Systems and niches as areas of Power projections, which suppress undesirable interactions and communications. Openness of niche opens it in order that do it closed. And close it in order that do it open.

Human formations always exist in the middle of these contingent complicities of plural darkness with plural darkness. Because naĂŻve anthropocentric escapism in the shape of striving for conservation of safety condition in the middle of this space only can alienate system from functional understanding of the environment. Thus striving for safety and surplus control turns out only opposite results. Just keep up the current affaires of global policy. In this way I think what radical eco-oriented thinking must give up completely value of safety as conception.

Plural Time and Cyclic Production

I must elaborate on one more conception, which I used above. When I am talking about stream of Time/Becoming, someone would think that I am talking about kind of continuum. But it is not right. My understanding of Time corresponds to antichloristic thinking of object oriented philosophy. In this way Time must be understood as measure of interactions between isolated objects. But as far as not all objects interacts with each other (quite the contrary most of objects just can not detect one another), in place of one interobjective scale we must tell about a great number of discrete scales. In this way production of new compound objects must caused production of new interobjective temporal dimensions. Especially if we tell about compound objects, which use mechanics of powerful interactions. That is such types of relations as exploitation, parasitism and obsession. In this regard tell that teleology of Power is complete stasis, is not quite right.

Of course, on the one hand, complete stasis as substitute of immortality is obsession of many Authoritarian Formations. But on other hand, complete of many Authoritarian Formations. But on other hand, complete stasis is impossible ideal. Nothing happens once and for all. In real life formations forced to reproduce itself. Permanent reproduce by means of technology, by means of economic force, by means of discourse and by means of violence. As we tell about any political and economic supremacy we must understand this phenomena in the light of transformation of many temporal currents into one general quasi-continuum of Production Cycles. This mechanics is simple. The more you are involved in reproduction elements, the less you have time for any other complicities. In this way existence of many objects become alienated on behalf of one compound construction. But just how existential alienation holds a phenomenologic situation of objects within temporal limits of Cyclic Production? I think   that matter must be researched in the light of Latour’s Actor Network Theory. That allow us to consider such phenomena as Formative Power and Alienation under Capitalism as product of complex network running/functioning. Of network, which consist of many (certain) human and non-human actors. Of network, which able to reorganize itself. And which able to break itself. What remained of Power after such deconstruction apart from blind intuition of survival and fear of the Life?

Factory of delusions

Of course, this task needs a some other circumstances than I have in prison. But nevertheless I shall try to state some my thoughts here. Let’s return to Nietzsche, he discovered direct connection between will to power and establishment of values. View on the values is view on the Symptom of Power on the side of those who establish a values. That is general Nietzsche’s thesis in this regard. As he wrote, possibility of Valuation direct depend on possibility of exploitation within human population. Accordingly he consider egalitarian political movements (which struggle against exploitation) as motive force of Nihilism. It is understandable. Value of aristocratic lifestyle guarantees existence of serfdom. Value of free citizen’s lifestyle in the ancient Greece guarantees existence of Slavery. Values of one man’s life guarantees depreciation of other Nietzsche (in political sense) is more right than Adolf Hitler, Donald Trump and

But what is act of Valuation itself? Nietzsche connected it with fields of Art and Aesthetics. He considered the Art as the most clear expression of Will to Power and Establishment of Values. But nonetheless such conceptions as will to Power and Art within his works remained a kind of thing-in-itself Heidegger attempted to clarify these Nietzsche’s conceptions. He placed it in the context of relations between delusions and truth. In the context of epistemology. I think that this Heidegger’s gesture must be interpreted in the way of object oriented philosophy.

Heidegger took thesis about fundamental gap between true world (which completely inaccessible for all beings/objects) and apparent world (as space of perceptible objects) as a starting point proceeding from that Heidegger postulated imperative value of delusions as truth/verity substitutes. Human beings are doomed to produce delusions by means of forming and transformation of appearances. In the opinion of Heidegger, that is essence of the Art (as realization of will to power). And also that is essence of the Valuation. The Valuation is instrument of Power. By means of that Power “imprint traits/features o Being on stream of Time/Becoming.”

But Heidegger correlate Valuation not only with Art, but also with Metaphysics. How we should understand thought about direct connection between Metaphysics, Valuation and will to power in the light of object oriented philosophy? Let’s take as a starting point Nietzsche’s thesis that “View on the Values” is “View on the conditions for rise and conservation of large formations within/inside stream of Time (Becoming)”. What is a function of metaphysics at process of rise/conservation of large human formations? As I think it is instrument of viscosity. Teleology of metaphysics/ideology/discourse (under these names I mean any various kinds of production that makes delusions in the capacity of truths, taking into account that any discourse turns into metaphysics in proportion as it strives to from a hermetically sealed circle of references) is identical with teleology of economic exploitation and (non-economic) compulsion (by violence).As far as all of these instruments holds phenomenologic situations of objects/human beings within certain fixed limits in order to conservation of large economic/political formations as compound objects). This teleology is alienation of Life (as venture search of complicities with Unknown) from itself.

In contrast to Heidegger I don’t think what making of delusions (in the capacity of truths have Imperative Value for human existence as such. Moreover I think that this thesis as such is fixing of certain delusion in the status of truth. In fact, we can not postulate about human being-in-itself something fixed. Apart from that human existence is finite, breakable and isolated from other beings/objects thing. That is darkness beyond any discourse. Of course from this darkness may be extracted various relations and compound objects which may be descripted in form of rough plans/diagrams/maps of reality. But these plans/diagrams/maps (by analogy with of paradigm in science history) is plans/diagrams/maps of certain configuration between objects. It must be destroyed in case of any reconfiguration. And fixing of some plans/diagrams/maps of reality in the capacity of invariable truth always serves for conservation of some economic and political formations. Therefore, production of delusions as truths (or truths as delusions) have Imperative value not for all human being but only for beneficiaries of certain (some) human configurations. But they also pays  loss of phenomenologic mobility for that. Any social consciousness is consciousness of escapism as far as it does not destroy itself.

But social consciousness doesn’t exist within vacuum. It Is a product and at the same time a function element of formative (re)production. As far as metaphysical production direct connected with such conceptions as necessity and conformity with (natural) laws that is ground of economic exploitation and compulsion is ground of discourse/metaphysical production. If all this instruments of viscosity effectively keep up each other human existence found itself inside hermetically sealed space of cyclic reproduction. There is no way out from here.

Monetary metaphysics

When we talk about Values in the context of Nietzsche’s philosophy it goes without saying what we talk about metaphysics ideology/discourse. But I think that concentrate one’s attention on discourse in case of Formative Power studies we fall into humanities/humanist delusion. We should mention one another field of human relations, which completely correspond to with metaphysics as essence of nihilism and nihilism as essence of metaphysics.

Ideological supporters of Fiat Economics often talks what cryptocurrencies market is “big financial bubble”, “global swindle” and so forth. As far as in the opinion of them value cryptocurrencies is nothing guaranteed/ensured/supported in the real. of course it is not so in actual fact.  Value of cryptocurrencies is guaranteed/supported by demand for instrument that makes economic relations possible beyond limits of governmental and banking control. But that is not the point. The point is that we can move/transfer this critique back. Against Fiat Economics.

On what grounds Fiat Money have value? What is guarantee of that? It is just symptom of Power on the side of those who postulate (establish) this value in Nietzsche’s terms, is not it? Of power as compulsion by means of laws and violence. Of power as product of complex network running/functioning. Of network which consist of many human and non-human actors. Fiat Economics not able to lines of barbed wire and other elements, which put together a machinery of Formative Violence.

Circulation of Fiat Money is grounded on governmental control of human economic relations, that is driven by force into space of Fiat Economic. But at the same time machinery of governmental is grounded on circulation of Fiat Money. That is network running/functioning which formed a circle. That is cyclic (re)production of Formative Power.

In the light of that phenomenon of cryptocurrency is of special interest. As infrastructure by means of that life can escape from complicity with industry of alienation, which guards present day political/economic formation against invasions of unalienated life. Phenomenon of cryptocurrency showed that fields of economic relation between people may be putted out from network, which produces control, exploitation and compulsion as Complex of Formative Power. This phenomenon shown subversive potential of technological decentralization that able to incapacitate ground and integrity of present day political/economic authorization formations. Therefore I think that we should interpret as pattern of machinery that turns large compound objects into multiplicity of many new discrete beings/ into plural Darkness as space of new complicities with Unknown.

Hyperimmunity and dialectic of Decay

In my previous works I tried to interpret confrontation (and undercover complicity) between Fiat Economics and Cryptocurrency market as confrontation (and undercover complicity) between faces of opposing ontological sides. The pole of Decay/differentiation/Disintegration versus the Pole of Power/Integration/Capitalistic Supremacy. But lately my comrade D. in correspondence with S. expressed thought about defectiveness of this interpretation. As D. considers in the real all of us everyday have to do with only one independent ontological Pole. That is one planetary production network system which produces alienation. System which integrates all local formations and political/economic supremacies. That is Global Capitalism. As machinery that converts the earth (together with all human and non-human objects of that) into Added Value, State Control and Political Supremacy. The total sun of human history as ecological, economic and political phenomenon.

Comrade D. stated thought that formation decay is none other than side effect/result of striving for strengthening/reinforcement of Formative Power, state Control and Economic Exploitation. That is naïve escapism of biological survival. Of survival that permanently forced to encounter with lack/shortage of one’s own existence s the heart of the one’s own nature that cant run away from this existential lack.

I was thinking about this dialectic a long time. And concluded that such dialectical interpretation indeed able to describe machinery of formation decay as well as possible. Moreover in the light of that interpretation my be described not only phenomenon formations. And history of science as well.

As far as Power is not only exploitation and compulsion but also permanent strengthening/reinforcement of compulsion and exploitation (as wrote Heidegger when he was commenting Nietzsche), Formative Power faces with the problem of technological reinforcement/updating/modernization as applied to one’s own machinery. There is economic reasons apart from anything else. All formations which grounded on exploitation faces with the prospect that is unavoidable exhaustion of exploitable resources. Money petroleum ozone layer and biological variety are dwindling. Substratum of survival turns into non-existence. By force of that formations strives for expansion of exploitation and increase of it effectiveness. By men’s of technologies. In other words by means of activities that is extracting new compound objects/things/beings from interobjective darkness of the Unknown. In order to that formation must admit life (as complicity with the Unknown) inside one’s own formative space. Must loose  work of viscosity and powerful interactions within cyclic reproduction of Formative Power.

But extraction/construction of new compound objects/beings is essentially a process with unpredictable consequences. Irrespective of tasks in order to which new compound objects are extracted/constructed, these objects find one’s own being-in-itself can form a new structures of complicities with human and human objects. That can cause faults/defects in cycles of Power, Control and Added Value. Faults and defects that can cause appearance/forming of local spaces with lowered viscosity, where objects can get the opportunity of temporary liberation from formative compulsion, exploitation and control. Of local spaces where formations body begin to decay. It disintegrates to multiplicity of new objects/beings/things.

Moreover, from time to time Formative Power tries to use extraction/construction of new compound objects in order to liquidation of consequences which caused by extraction/construction of compound objects in the past. Sometimes such reaction of system can completely disable (put out of action logic of cyclic reproduction itself. Can turn cyclic reproduction into spiral movement to darkness of the Unknown.

Such phenomenon as genesis of the internet I direct connected with striving of various science institutions for increase of effectiveness in regard to one’s own research work. By means of increase of information exchange. In point of facts, science institutions functions as instruments of the capital and formative power. Of ststaes (govermenents) and corporations. Instruments which for the most part serves needs of defense industry and economic/ecological exploitation. Just get acquainted with statistic about correlation of investment between applied and fundamental scientific research works and statistic about sources of this investment (that is adduced in Bruno Latour’s work “science in action”) In spite of all these facts, just only because of science itself as optimal medium for development of decentralization that able to dissolve basis of any Formative power.

Power of Romanovs’ House in the Russian Empire tried to reinforce itself by means of conprecendeted privileges of nobility/gently. Power interpret this social class as one’s own ground. But that strategy of power turned out otherwise 19th century began to take shape just owing to this social class.

But that caused many social alterations. Formation of new social classes/ for example class of intellectuals not of gentle birth that became a social basis of narodnik movement and various socialist organizations.
