Manifester
May 29th, 2025

When I first saw the series about WeWork on Apple TV+ is when I internalized the word ‘manifest’ a vision from Anne Hathway’s character of Adam Neumann’s wife, Rebeckah Neumann. It felt strangely intriguing. On one hand it is easy to dismiss as television BS, but on the other, there was something deep. Rebeckah was a practioner of yoga and other soulful activities, often seemed like a lunatic, but in between there was something. Like when she said, “manifest it” and Adam would just come up with an audacious idea. Herein came another concept that would come back to me years after I watched the series, the chemistry between polar opposites that creates possibilities impossible for either to come up with.

Fast forward almost two years and I came to study some aspects of Human Design introduced to me by a friend. There are personality types that manifest a vision, have the ideas at the intersection of several others but they need two kinds of people:

  • Master Organizers who help uncover some of the blindspots of manifesters and organize teams for scale. They help keep manifestors priorities on track. Almost like a chief of staff or executive assistant. They hold folks accountable, drive the strategic vision or craft it in a way that is more palatable to the teams.

  • Communicators and Impedence matchers - these are the people that match the pace of the manifestor who is running at a million miles an hour to the teams that are not quite at that pace. They are the ones who translate, who break down, into a roadmap or vision that is more palatable and earthly.

  • Detail Oriented Fleshers and Execution oriented people - those that grind the ‘boring details’ day in and day out with the teams to ensure that progress is made towards the communicated and aligned vision. The manifestors do not have patience, they start but expect someone to execute the plan before they come back to communicate and educate the world about what they have just delivered.

Why this is interesting is because, we are often unaware of our personal bias and what completes us. We often find that the times of our unfair success were times when we had a team that completed us. In my case, the times where I came together with people that matched the above skillsets were when I was most successful. In projects, I would be completed by people that balanced my prepostrous vision with a set of practical next steps that would lead to the vision in steps. They did not dissuade me or detract from the vision, they truly believed in it and helped me break it down and execute. In other times, my disorganized sense of self was balanced by note takers or detail oriented folks that would ask questions, most of which I might not have answers to, but would provoke thoughts and bring a more realistic vision.

Such a deep understanding of our genetic and socio-psycho makeup would help drive interactions, hiring, collaboration and communication. It is fascinating how astrology meets human design and creates the perfect storm.
