JTC, as far as we know, is the only international code to identify Bauru, the city where we live since 2018. It is the IATA code identifying the Bauru Arealva airport. And for those who don't know, IATA stands for International Air Transport Association, which is an international entity that adopted a 3-letter code system, to identify the airports in operation in the world.

Bauru is a city in the Midwest of São Paulo state that had its history greatly influenced by Brazilian railways - being an important junction of commercial and passenger lines in the past. Today, rail transport is abandoned in almost all of Brazil, and it is no different here.

And like any Brazilian city, Bauru is a city of contrasts. From the wealth that comes from agribusiness to the poverty resulting from the Brazilian income distribution failure, added to the Brazilian unemployment rates of the last years. And these contrasts are clear when you walk through the streets of the city.

Stopping for a moment at this point: walking through the streets of the city. This is a great passion of ours, and I dare say of almost all photographers in the world.

Photography forces us to look, to see our surroundings. Really see. To look for details, beauty, contrasts; to search in the movement of life around us for a moment to be frozen and eternalized in the photograph. It makes us bwusch for an image that contextualizes a moment of life, of everyday life. A moment that tells a complete story, or almost complete. Or that raises a discussion or a question.

And what a wonderful exercise in photography it is to walk through a city!

The city is where life happens in its most diverse forms. It is where stories happen, and intersect. The city is rich with life, and the photographer is one of its natural observers.

And so the JTC collection was born. Our look, our experience, and our wanderings through our city, our neighborhood, through this small extract of Brazil that is Bauru, identified worldwide (via IATA) as JTC.

Nova coleção: JTC

JTC, até onde sabemos, é o único código internacional a identificar Bauru, a cidade onde moramos desde 2018. É o código IATA de identificação do aeroporto Bauru Arealva. E para quem não sabe, IATA é a sigla para International Air Transport Association, que é uma entidade internacional que adotou um sistema de códigos de 3 letras, para identificar os aeroportos em operação no mundo.

Bauru é uma cidade no Centro Oeste paulista que teve sua história muito influenciada pelas linhas férreas brasileiras - sendo um importante entroncamento de linhas comerciais e de passageiros no passado. Hoje, o transporte férreo está abandonado em quase todo o Brasil, e aqui não é diferente.

E como toda a cidade brasileira, Bauru é uma cidade de contrastes. Da riqueza que advém do agronegócio à pobreza decorrente da falha distribuição de renda brasileira, somada aos índices brasileiros de desemprego dos últimos anos. E esses contrastes são nítidos quando você anda pelas ruas da cidade.

Parando um pouco nesse ponto: andar pelas ruas da cidade. Essa é uma grande paixão nossa, e ouso dizer que de quase todos os fotógrafos do mundo.

A fotografia nos força a olhar, a ver o nosso entorno. Realmente ver. Procurar detalhes, beleza, contrastes; buscar no movimento da vida à nossa volta um momento a ser congelado e eternizado na fotografia. Nos faz bwuscar uma imagem que contextualize um momento da vida, do cotidiano. Um momento que conte uma história completa, ou quase completa. Ou que levante uma discussão ou um questionamento.

E que exercício maravilhoso da fotografia é andar por uma cidade!

A cidade é onde a vida acontece em suas mais diversas formas. É onde as histórias acontecem, e se cruzam. A cidade é rica de vida, e o fotógrafo é um de seus observadores naturais.

E assim nasceu a coleção JTC. Nosso olhar, nossa vivência e nossas andanças pela nossa cidade, pela nossa vizinhança, por este pequeno extrato do Brasil, que é Bauru, identificada mundialmente (via IATA) por JTC.
