Weekly spoils of Lvl. 99 Raid Ross 🐲 - Issue #2: Prometheus

ARCHIVE (originally posted on Revue Jun 28 2022). High-grade loot area. Edge food for thought. Biased takes on what we refer to as “real life”.

Issue #2: Prometheus

I might not be aware of who painted the above, and I am really not willing to spend my time Googling it, but I know a thing or two about Prometheus. He was a mythological-level gangsta who snatched “fire” - as a concept solely reserved for God-level players and above - in order to actually airdrop it to the entire human race. For free.

If you analogize “fire” with wisdom, light, technology, community, etc. you know how important that airdrop out of all retroactive airdrops in the history of mankind was. Sure $UNI, and $ENS, and all these were cool and everything, but remember: the system has stolen millions from each one of you, before randomly dropping $25k worth of Goofy tokens*1.

Imagine if everyone got an airdrop for their past achievements. If a big brother like watching eye would know every little single thing we’ve ever done, and reward us, or to be fair, treat us…accordingly. Would work for the good ones 😎

ikr?
ikr?

Spoils of the week! 💰

Are Jews the kings of retroactive airdrops? Is Christiano Ronaldo the scorer blockchain needed to scale and finally appeal even inside two-digit IQ organic processors? Is space even real? Buckle up, as we’re going to find out, in this episode!

Or maybe not, I just wanted it to sound like a TV news intro lol. 🤭

Crypto works for 12 years+ straight - let that sink.

There is a common misconception when it comes to blockchain technology and whether it really is a breakthrough tech or just bollocks.

Sure, you can argue all you want, but there were gov-backed and funded companies that were established in-between these dozen years that simply DO NOT exist nowadays, yet won’t return your money. Bitcoin is still here, and it looks like it’s not going away unless we nuke the internet infrastructure, or a meteor larger than the moon hits us, or the Sun bursts a weird ray we can’t handle and all our tech is fried. You get the point.

The way I look at blockchain, and specifically Bitcoin is like software, or like a computer program that turned on 12 years ago, and it is still running non-stop.

Unlike your photoshop, Ableton, or whatever software you’re using, which will shut down operations at the end of your session, or day, or week (MMORPG players), Bitcoin is an operation that started in 2009 and it’s still running without any clear signs of slowing down as we grow into a digitalist society complemented by I.4.0 fruits including but not limited to

  • AI,

  • Blockchain,

  • 5G, and

  • IoT,

all components of the same infrastructure that handles our data, and our thought processing operations and will soon be capable of hosting digital twins pegged by our physical and virtual behaviors among other factors.

No matter how much governments hate it, blockchain provides you with cartographical tools that make it easier to record, track, and validate who everyone is, who’s paying them, when, why, and how do they spend that, and what real-life or virtual assets do they hold and across how many accounts, where they are eligible to study, work, and could they enter a physical location or club, or a virtual domain etc. If this isn’t a goldmine of what sorts of information big data and govs want from you, I don’t know what is.

The important part here is the integrity of the data. Information that cannot be forged, duplicated, or represent counterfeit truths that have been already registered on the blockchain.

Not gonna go into detail on how blockchain changes our lives put aside the fact it acts as the most successful and the most important monetary system on the globe right now. More spoilers next week. 🤗

Bro, is 7B people even enough for mass adoption? 🤔

So, everyone’s talking about “wen moon, wen mass adoption, wen crypto mainstream” etc. Truth be told, we’re past mass adoption. I mean let’s face it, Bill Clinton bought XRP, Madonna sells her vagina as an NFT, Eminem and Snoop Dogg only reunited thanks to Apes and Christiano Ronaldo is training wearing a Binance-sponsored t-shirt.

What do you mean by mass adoption? Do you want all the grandmas, and working-class people, juniors, birds, and turtles to have NFTs? Most people barely have secured shelters.

This leads to the conclusion that people in crypto are already in crypto. Some of them for a longer time than others, but they are here and they’re not going anywhere. There will be an influx of newcomers over the next decade, but we’re pretty much settled, considering anyone with internet access that has interacted with Google, or Facebook, or Netflix, or whatever, has come across cryptos and NFTs at some point, multiple times, and many of their friends, if not themselves, already own some crypto and/or nfts.

If you think your grandma will pay for her coffee with crypto, first you need to consider teaching her the smartphone as a concept, if she gets that, then cryptos would be naturally there. The point is that people who can access crypto one way or another, already do, and the more people granted unrestricted internet access the more people will naturally join cryptos.

There’s no magical formula or marketing campaign that will teach a 3-year-old kid or an 83-year-old grandpa from Greece how to buy an NFT. When the conditions are met (eg. you have electricity, a computer or smart handheld device able to connect to the internet, socially active with creative incentives) people are funneled into cryptos they want it or not.

So, do we really need all these celebrities to make us realize cryptos are here? No. I don’t think Bill Clinton is the coder Ripple Labs desperately needs, and neither I do believe that Christiano Ronaldo will work as a Web3 Advisor to make Binance eradicate its KYC and bring back the old good platform.

They are just trying to make you buy their shit, as they always had. Don’t, if you don’t have to <3
