The event
We kicked off the first stop of the SEED Tour across Argentina in San Martín de los Andes, a valley surrounded by mountains in the province of Neuquén, about 1,400 kilometers from Buenos Aires. The three-day tour featured open coworking spaces in the mornings for local builders and entrepreneurs, while the afternoons were packed with workshops and talks led by key figures in the ecosystem.
Throughout the event, more than 60 entrepreneurs, young professionals, and members of local institutions gathered to learn, network, and connect with others developing blockchain projects. The talks gradually increased in complexity over the course of the event, with active audience participation—engaging in questions, contributions, and discussions that enriched the experience.
The region has shown a strong interest in understanding how Ethereum can enhance its key local assets. Among the most relevant topics were Real World Assets, tokenization, and node deployment, all of which sparked high engagement from attendees. The event also highlighted the curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, along with the dedication of those facilitating these spaces—driving collaboration and fostering the growth of blockchain in the south of the country.
To make this event happen, we collaborated with various institutions and local communities, whose support and commitment we’d like to highlight:
Node Patagonia: A growing community in San Martín de los Andes playing a key role in fostering local entrepreneurship and Ethereum adoption.
BIT - Base de Innovación Tecnológica Cotesma: A tech hub focused on learning, entrepreneurship, and developing innovative technology-driven projects for the San Martín community. BIT was our strategic ally, providing outreach support and hosting our talks over the three days of the tour.
Centro Pyme ADENEU/ Club de Emprendedores de Neuquén: Neuquén’s economic development agency supported our initiative and connected us with small and medium-sized businesses eager to learn about blockchain, its implications, and the opportunities it presents for companies in the region. We were joined by Gabriel Carnelli, Roberto Camino (Head of the Entrepreneurs Department at ADENEU), and Roberto Camino (Coordinator of the Support Program for EBT Companies).
Criptoposta: A community based in Bariloche (260 kilometers from our event location) that rallied participants through Telegram and social media, using the opportunity to meet in person and discuss Web3 projects
What’s Being Built in Neuquén?
In southern Argentina, innovative projects integrating blockchain technology are emerging, and SEED Latam has been connecting with various initiatives to drive their development and create new opportunities in the region. Some standout projects include:
Mosquetum: A social and ethical enterprise centered around the Patagonian Rosa Mosqueta, aiming to generate a meaningful local impact. Instagram
Origino: A project focused on blockchain-based tokenization and supply chain traceability, enabling more transparent and efficient management. Website
ReFi Project / Plastic Recycling in Bariloche: A regenerative finance (ReFi) initiative leveraging blockchain to enhance plastic recycling processes, promoting sustainability in the region.
SEED Latam will continue working with these and other emerging projects to strengthen the blockchain ecosystem in southern Argentina.
SEED Tour was an event that reignited local enthusiasm and brought key players closer together by combining three days of talks, coworking, and networking. During the event, we helped strengthen the Node Patagonia community by laying the groundwork to establish it beyond SEED Node, setting the stage for its growth in the region. We also launched a working group between BIT and Node Patagonia to develop a node in Neuquén as a local educational initiative aimed at expanding knowledge of blockchain infrastructure in the region. The group is already active on our Discord channel.
ADENEU Conference in May: The Neuquén Economic Development Agency will host an event aimed at introducing Web3 to university students at the National University of Comahue. They have requested SEED’s support in moderating and coordinating the blockchain content segment.
Edge City’s Interest in San Martín de los Andes: They are considering the city for a Pop-Up City and have reached out to our team to learn more about the local community in the south. Thanks to the SEED Tour, interest in blockchain is growing, along with more content offerings in the region.
Individual Initiatives Sparked by the SEED Tour:
One attendee applied to teach Solidity classes at BIT.
Three attendees joined the Pop-Up City in Aleph during March, including a 19-year-old particularly eager to continue learning about Web3.
The SEED Tour didn’t just make an immediate impact—it planted the seeds for initiatives that will continue to shape the blockchain ecosystem in southern Argentina.
The SEED Tour wouldn’t have been possible without the support of those who made this event a reality. A special thank you to @manuneta1 and BIT, the Polo Tecnológico de San Martín de los Andes, for welcoming us into their coworking space for the three days of the tour.
We also want to highlight the participation of @eskizolibereco, @ezelafon, and @wakeuplabs, as well as Gabi and Jota from @criptoposta, who traveled from different parts of Patagonia to bring people together and share their knowledge as speakers.
Additionally, we deeply appreciate the support of the Club de Emprendedores, the Centro PyME of Neuquén, and @cotesma, whose backing was instrumental in strengthening the local ecosystem and making this tour an unforgettable experience.
The SEED Tour reaffirmed the strong interest in blockchain and Ethereum across the region. However, to truly strengthen the ecosystem, we must continue driving education and mentorship initiatives, enabling more communities to explore work opportunities within the broader network, especially in areas with high potential for impact and growth.
The presence of local actors committed to spreading this technology is a key factor in this process. We will keep working to expand access to blockchain knowledge and technology in Argentina and Latin America, supporting emerging communities and equipping them with the tools they need to grow.
Our goal is clear: to keep shining a light on new regions and planting the seeds of blockchain where we want to see them flourish. 🚀
