Hello, and welcome to the very first Serenade post on Mirror! We’re delighted to have you here.

On this blog you’ll find news of exciting goings-on at Serenade, alongside introductions to our fantastic team, tech developments and exclusive content from the many talented artists we are lucky enough to partner with.

So before we launch into all of the above, what on earth is Serenade?

We’re a music NFT platform, helping to bring artists closer to their fans through demystifying blockchain technology and delivering digital collectibles in an accessible and understandable format. We believe in the thrilling opportunities that web3 will bring to the music industry, and we’re honoured to be at the forefront of this change.

As NFTs move towards a point of mass adoption, we’re focused on serving artists and fans, whilst reducing the technical barriers to entry. Core to our beliefs is that significant technological progress shouldn’t come at the expense of the environment, therefore we made the decision for Serenade NFTs to be minted on Polygon, an eco-friendly, low-fee blockchain. This means that Serenade NFTs have a carbon footprint 1/44,000th of an Ethereum NFT, and use 1/10th of the energy required to post a single tweet! In our world, the spicier comparison to draw is that you would have to create 197,000 NFTs on Serenade to equal the carbon footprint of a single 12inch vinyl.

Previously, we’ve partnered with the likes of Jungle, The Kooks, Young M.A. and Super Furry Animals to release a wide range of digital collectibles that serve to strengthen the artist and fan relationship. From exclusive live recordings, unique remixes and limited edition storytelling visuals, we’ve enabled artists and their fans to take their first steps into the fascinating and empowering world of web3.

With music and identity being so intrinsically intertwined, we see NFTs as furthering this crucial relationship, uniting artists and their superfans in a manner unlike any before whilst providing creatives with a sustainable and recurring stream of revenue through secondary sales.

We believe that NFTs should be accessible for all artists, whether they’re selling out arenas, or simply dreaming of it. With that in mind, we’re delighted to offer both crypto and traditional fiat card payments, reducing the complexity of purchase whilst keeping the compelling product at the core of what we do. 

Our team is comprised of music lovers from a whole host of different backgrounds, unified by their passion for serving artists and their fans. Over the course of the next couple of months we’ll be introducing some of them on these pages, and giving a little more background into what drives them and why they’re so excited to be working in the web3 music space.
