As we are in the process of implementing some exciting changes for the 7th episode of B.S. Radio (@bsradiopod), it feels like the right time to solidify the vision for what we are building in web3. This is B.S. Radio.

B.S. Radio is Revolutionary Joy

Whether it’s the untimely death of your pet ant that you named Cow at 5 years old (definitely not based on a real-life event!) or something much darker, the heaviness of the human condition dawns upon many of us quickly once we arrive on this earth. As we progress in age it becomes evident that to prioritize joy is to go against the grain. For this reason, one of the aims of B.S. Radio is to provide moments of (kinda ratchet) joy and warmth to our audience.

While B.S. Radio is not technically a “comedy podcast,” humor is a key value shared by myself and my co-host Bianca aka @illuminatedbab3. As someone who sits at an intersection of identities that are often treated demeaningly by society (queer, black, woman), prioritizing joy flies in the face of the burden that can accompany these identities. My joy is revolutionary. Our joy is revolutionary. B.S. Radio is an invitation to this revolutionary joy.

B.S. Radio is The Lion As The Historian

“Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.”-Chinua Achebe

Web3 is a pivotal, international, artistic movement. It is, of course, many other things but this part excites me beyond measure. In light of this, we at B.S. Radio have the opportunity to be historians of the artists in this space; we are a part of the keepers of oral history in web3 via our podcast. With this responsibility, our aim is to ensure that voices that are typically forgotten in artistic movements, are heard and are given a platform. For this reason we prioritize highlighting artists who are people of color, women, queer people, and trans people.

Upcoming Change: Web3 Artist Integration

With the aforementioned values held close to us, we have decided to introduce artist-integrated episodes to B.S. Radio. This will look like web3 artists joining us for the entire hour-long episode as we rant, subtweet, give mid advice, and reflect on what we are thankful for. In the spirit of SNL, this allows artists to promote their work through fun; it is a reprieve from the typical interview and invites the audience to learn about artists from an angle that is comedic and heartfelt.

As of now, our artist-integrated episodes will occur every other episode. J’Von (@itsjvon), the brilliant artist behind Loser Club (@loserclubreborn), a popular and powerful web3 brand, will be our first guest to journey with us through a fully integrated episode on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022. As always, the podcast will occur live on Twitter Spaces at 9 pm EST.
