KEY TAKEAWAY: PRE-CAP EVERYTHING

The Key Takeaway I received from Rachel during her conversation with Tara and Teri, was the idea of Pre-Capping. She mentioned how a friend of hers PreCaps everything and now she does it too. We've all heard of a ReCap where you go over everything once it's done. Well, this concept helps you PreCap everything before it's done.

HOW TO PRE-CAP

Before you start on an endeavor, write a letter to yourself and spell out everything that will happen before it actually does. Seal it and read it after your launch takes place. This helps train your brain for what to expect, what to look for and ultimately what you will receive. Thanks for this invaluable tip Rachel.

TARA REED

Tara is the CEO of Apps Without Code.

After leading marketing initiatives at Google, Foursquare & Microsoft, she built her first successful app, Kollecto, without writing any code. Now, she helps millions of students do the same.

KEY TAKEAWAY: THE MOONSHOT METHOD

In her conversation with Teri and Rachel, Tara spoke about two important actions that she tells her team to do every week. The first is to do the most important action that week that will move the needle forward for the organization. The second one is called the moonshot.

HOW TO MOONSHOT

The moonshot is the idea that you shoot for the moon. You take an action that is not necessarily going to land, but the key is to take the action anyway. It means sending out that cold email or making that sales call that may not land today, but if you stay laser focused, it will someday.

Tara also prioritizes her mental health. She stated that she went to a therapist to obtain a better relationship with money and mentioned this amazing video by Actress Khanyi Mbau who says, "Money is comfortable around me. Money likes me. When Money needs someone to talk to, it chooses me in a crowd and sits next to me." Thanks so much Tara for your tips and insight.

TERI IJEOMA

Teri is the CEO of Trade & Travel.

I learned about Teri earlier this year after I saw her on a panel talking about money. There are just some people you are immediately drawn to because of their spirit and Teri is such a person. She is so down to earth and genuine that I just love to hear her speak.

Teri Ijeoma began her professional career working in education and non-profits. When she started trading stocks, she initially saw it as an opportunity to simply supplement her income. However, she was so successful with this side hustle that in 2017, she decided to quit her job, travel the world, and begin trading full-time. She is now a multi-millionaire.

KEY TAKEAWAY: PRIORITIZE YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH (PYPH)

Teri said that she recently went to the doctor and had every health check-up done. She vowed to hydrate every two hours by drinking water, going walking for at least 30 minutes in the morning to burn fat and not carbs and to make sure she gets enough sleep. I applaud you Teri because taking care of your physical health is a direct correlation to your mental health. Thank you Teri for your honesty and vulnerability.

This topic struck a chord with me because I was recently bullied and harassed on the job for nearly two years and it almost stole my mental health and broke me. But, I am a fighter and I'm unbreakable, so I created a resource for WOC who have experienced what I went through.
