We’re excited to share Collect on Spinamp, a way for more people to support artists through minting and collecting tracks directly in the web-app on desktop and mobile browsers.
Music NFTs have been a fragmented experience across different websites and platforms: Minting, marketplace and listening are each three disconnected experiences. Even within just the minting and marketplace experience, a collector must scour various websites and platforms to find the tracks they want to add to their collection and follow the activity of the market.
With Spinamp Collect, we are placing a small stepping stone towards bridging the gaps between listening to music, minting and marketplace.
There’s been some debate in recent weeks on the value of music NFT aggregators and listening apps: Spinamp is and has always been a music-first experience, and we believe that through listening to music, the content itself will encourage more fans and collectors to support artists and lead to a healthier, more intimate music NFT economy.
By introducing a simple, frictionless flow to collect on Spinamp, we let listening guide collecting. This makes for a more seamless, cohesive music NFT experience that we hope will ultimately result in more value for artists and a stronger connection between collectors and the music they love.
Keeping in line with our mission to unify all the different disparate pieces of the web3 music NFT scene, Spinamp Collect automatically finds you the best available price for collecting a specific track with no added fees in a simple, single button. We’ll either directly mint you a new NFT if available, or find one on the secondary market for you so that you won’t have to worry about finding the best price.
With Spinamp, you can now listen and collect tracks in the same place, making it easier to discover and support new artists.
We’re excited to take this first step towards a future where listening and collecting can coexist seamlessly.
If you have feedback, suggestions, or want to meet other music NFT collectors, join our Discord community! Our team is always available to listen to your ideas and make Spinamp the best it can be.

How can I collect music on Spinamp?
You can collect music by clicking on the Collect button, either while listening to a track on the music player or on any track information page. You can also click on the track art on any page to access the track information page.
What percentage cut of the sale price does Spinamp take?
Spinamp currently takes 0% of the sale price when you collect through the app.
Why is collecting only available in the browser?
Apple and Google make it difficult to process in-app transactions on mobile. We are actively working on ways to support collecting through the mobile app.
Do artists get royalties when I collect on Spinamp?
Even better: Spinamp will always try mint and buy directly from the artist first, so long as there is a cheaper NFT available. If this is possible, the artist will get the entire purchase amount (minus the fees that the minting platform charges). If this is not possible, Spinamp will buy on seconday - On secondary, some marketplaces allow the seller to set the royalties for the NFT, rather than the artist. Since Spinamp Collect only supports buying, we can’t control this, but if we add support for selling on Spinamp in future, we’ll ensure that sellers always uphold artist royalties.
What about tracks that are only available on auction?
Spinamp Collect does not yet support actually bidding on auctions, but it will detect NFTs that are on auction and link you directly to the auction website so that you can bid there. We may add support for direct bids in time.
What about Music NFTs with random reveals or packs?
We already support buying revealed tracks, and expect to have pre-reveal and pack support for these soon. We’ll let you know if you could get a cheaper price on a random track, and give you the option to select either a random or specific track.
If there are many NFTs or editions of a track, can I choose a specific one?
Spinamp Collect is primarily focused on being a super simple flow that just gets you the cheapest NFT for a track. We do plan to add support for selecting specific NFTs, and floor sweeps in future.
What does it mean when I see that the total number of editions on a track is “TBD”?
Some releases store the number of editions for a track off-chain, or even keep it secret until all nfts are minted and revealed. Spinamp Collect only trusts verifiable on-chain data, so for these kinds of releases, we can’t always be sure how many editions will exist until minting is fully completed.
How does Spinamp Collect get me the best price available?
Spinamp Collect searches across liquidity from both secondary markets and primary markets. This means that it aggregates liquidity of existing NFTs together with new liquidity that could potentially be created through minting new NFTs. If a track is still open for minting, we’ll mint for you, otherwise we’ll give you the best price available on the secondary market.
What platforms and marketplaces does Spinamp Collect search?
Spinamp Collect currently only supports NFTs on Ethereum. We’ll be rolling out Polygon support soon, and hopefully Solana support in time.
For searching primary markets: We inspect smart contracts to automatically detect if it’s possible to mint an edition of the NFT or buy the NFT directly from the artist. Our inspector also supports checking if you have pre-sale or whitelist access in most cases.
The inspector is still in beta, and has been tested across Sound.xyz, Catalog and a few custom artist contracts. We’re testing out more generalized support now, and expect it to work for all Ethereum tracks on Spinamp within the next 2 weeks.
Meanwhile, if the inspector is unsure about any contract, it will let you know, so that you can go check the source directly in case there’s a better price.
For searching secondary sales: We’ve partnered with https://reservoir.tools/, which supports many markets, including:
OpenSea
LooksRare
X2Y2
Zora Asks
Rarible
Sudoswap
Sound Market
(Blur coming soon…)
