The reports of crypto’s death are greatly exaggerated. You wouldn’t know that though from the condolences I’ve received. Thoughtful friends have sent me notes like “sorry about crypto” and “what’s next?” while some others are getting their ‘I told you so’s in.

In 1998, AOL had about about 27M DAU, and at the beginning of this year, MetaMask had 30M MAU. Some of the best founders I know began building in web3 over the past couple of years, and their companies are just beginning to hit their stride. Here are two examples that I’m fortunate to have invested in: Flipside Crypto recently raised $50 million on a $350 million valuation and Unchained Capital raised $25 million from NYDIG last year. Both have hired incredible people to build important infrastructure to bring the next billion people into web3.

No need to write a eulogy as I’m optimistic we’re just getting started.
