Starting March 31st, some of the most active builders on Base will automatically earn a share of the weekly rewards pool in ETH. No applications, no manual reviews, just public recognition for the great work you're already doing.

Building is hard work. It takes time, dedication, and an insane amount of resilience. And yet, some of the best builders go unrecognized, not because they aren’t contributing, but because they’re too busy shipping to promote themselves.
That’s where Builder Rewards comes in.
Builder Rewards is an automated, data-driven approach that rewards real contributions and not self-promotion. Sponsored by Base and powered by Talent Protocol's reputation engine and incentives technology, this program surfaces builders who might otherwise fly under the radar.
How It Works
The program kicks off on March 31st. Each week, we'll distribute 2 ETH to active builders based on their verified onchain and open-source contributions. The more participation we see, the longer we’ll keep rewarding builders. The weekly prize pool resets every Monday at 12pm UTC and is distributed across three tiers:

Tier 1: Top 10 builders share 1 ETH, proportionally to their activity and impact

Tier 2: Next 25 builders share 0.5 ETH, proportionally to their activity and impact

Tier 3: Next 65 builders share 0.5 ETH, proportionally to their activity and impact
The best part? You don't need to apply or even claim your rewards. If you're building on Base, and meet the requirements below, we'll find and reward you.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Builder Rewards program, you'll need:

A Basename, your onchain identity on Base

A Builder Score ≥ 40, calculated by Talent Protocol based on onchain and open-source activity

A Human Checkmark verification, available through the Talent Protocol App
Your weekly rewards are determined by 3 separate factors:

Verified contributions to public crypto repositories during that week

Activity on verified contracts you've deployed on Base during that week

Your Builder Score
All participants will undergo automatic OFAC wallet screening and IP verification to ensure compliance with sanctions regulations.

Check your position on the weekly leaderboard at builderscore.xyz or through our Farcaster mini app. The leaderboard updates once every 24h, so you can track your progress and see how your contributions are being recognized. The leaderboard ranking is calculated based on the amount of rewards Builders earn, with the Builder Score being used as the tie-breaker.
