Dear America: Letter 22

Dear America,

I said I wouldn’t write again until after the elections—and that day has now passed. To start, I’ll admit that my previous predictions were completely off, and honestly, that’s for the best. America has chosen to bring Donald Trump back to the White House in what many call a landslide victory. Over 72 million Americans have sent a clear message: it’s time to end one of the darkest, most disheartening chapters in our nation’s recent history. I am immensely proud of those millions of Americans who voted for a future worth fighting for.

However, not everyone is happy. As I write this letter, it’s clear to me that the hidden psychological war that I mentioned in my previous letters has inflicted deeper wounds on the American psyche than I initially understood. Millions of Americans genuinely fear what a second Trump presidency might mean. Some have even gone so far as to label him a modern-day Hitler. Unfortunately, these fears have been fueled by eight years of misinformation from the mainstream media. Legacy media has been instrumental in manufacturing an atmosphere of fear and division among the American people. It pains me to see fellow citizens so distressed—some even harming themselves—over the results of this election.

When Joe Biden was elected, I felt disappointment, just as many do now. I watched as Americans celebrated in the streets, and though I disagreed with the outcome, I accepted it and held onto hope that President Biden might be the leader we need at the time. That hope may not have been realized, but I allowed it the chance. This is the perspective I urge my fellow Americans to embrace now. We have lived through a Trump presidency before, and though controversies surrounded it, the country continued to prosper in many respects. So, to those feeling disheartened by what lies ahead, I urge you to extend the same patience and judge President Trump’s leadership by his actions—not by what the media insists on telling you. Let us all move forward with resilience and open hearts for an agenda that Trump promises will bring back prosperity and peace to our nation.

However, we still must address those responsible for perpetuating this psychological war on the American people. It’s a war that began in 2016, but it wasn’t until 2020 that its full force became evident to me. The four years since then have been brutal for those who care deeply about this nation as we watched its decline with a sense of helplessness and sorrow. If you felt something was wrong, you weren’t alone. Many of us felt compelled to act, and I did what I could. I led a double life, working on journalistic projects that exposed government corruption, illegal immigration, and campus indoctrination. I even collaborated with an Emmy-winning journalist, creating videos on government failures. What I witnessed was unsettling, yet my love for this country only grew stronger.

During this time, I also saw those closest to me slowly awaken to the spread of authoritarian and Marxist ideologies infiltrating our institutions and communities by enemies that seek to divide us. Many who had once held deep skepticism about Trump even voted for him in this election. But not everyone has awakened. Some remain steadfast “Never Trumpers,” fearing he will dismantle women’s rights or target the LGBTQ community—lies that have been carefully manufactured by mainstream media. Sadly, these individuals are casualties of this ideological war.

Now that Trump is poised to retake office, and if he fulfills his promises, it feels as though we may be approaching the end of this ideological war—at least for now. However, as with any war, there must be accountability for the harm inflicted upon the American people. Without accountability, we leave ourselves vulnerable to repeating this painful chapter in our history.

As for my journey, I feel as if I am coming home from a long battle, uncertain of what comes next. This may be a time for me to step back and take a break from America. If that’s the case, it’s been an absolute honor to learn from and give back to the greatest country in the world. I hope, in time, I can look back on these years as the beginning of something greater.

Until then, God Bless America.

Signed,

G.S.P.
