We’re happy to announce that we’ve been accepted into the Aleph Zero Ecosystem Funding Program (EFP) and will be receiving support to move forward the development of Explora Online game.
Explora Online is an 2D MMORPG game set in the Age of Exploration where wooden ships rule the seas, and old worlds meet new horizons. Players will be immersed in a fantasy world named Zerth, where they can set sail across the high seas and traverse new lands in search of gold, rare artifacts, and new cultures!
Every player begins with a Ship and is sent on a Quest to begin their navigation career.

Explora Online is being developed using Playfab and Godot Engine 4.0, an open-source game engine that simplifies the creation of 2D and 3D games. We’ll be sharing our progress here in our blog, as well through our social channels on Twitter and Discord.
We’ve been actively working on the foundational elements of Explora, those include the Account Manager, where you’ll be able to manage all your assets associated with your account, as well as transfer in-game assets and convert them into NFTs. We are also working on an NFT marketplace specifically for Explora items.
In-Game assets are categorized into four groups: Avatars, Ships, Items, and Discoveries. We’ve made this possible so you can easily trade your assets without selling your full account.
Avatars are the in-game characters you control, these particular assets carry the game history and knowledge that player gathers while using this character. As well, all the in-game currencies associated with the character are attached with this avatar. Ranks, levels, and allegiance are also associated with the avatars.
Ships are the vessels used to navigate around the globe. These ships can also be leveled up, have health, and power-ups that provide different boosts for exploration and battle.
Items can be collected through your explorations, quests, or within shops within port cities where you sail to. These items can be used as power-ups for your ship or for temporary boosts for your avatar. They are ranked in rarity: common, rare, epic, and mythical.
And finally, Discoveries, these assets play an important role in Explora as they are unique items discovered around the globe, as you traverse through uncharted territories. These collectibles are hidden and glittered across the map in distinct locations waiting to be found! Some discoveries come with power-ups, and some are simply 1 of 1s that hold value to the kingdoms and can be traded for gold in-game, or if you so choose, can be sold as NFTs to other players.
Our Progress To Date
We’ve finished a preliminary version of the Account Manager so far, and we are headed into creating an alpha version of the game that will allow us to test the constraints of the map, the physics of the ship movement, and the port city features such as ship upgrades and mini-games.

Our plans are to continue to contribute to the Aleph Zero Ecosystem by making it easier to onboard Web2 players, as well as create a game environment that excites other game developers to see that Aleph Zero is the perfect place to bring their game.
We believe the technology is there to make Web3 gaming a thriving use case within the ecosystem and we will pioneer the way on Aleph Zero to make sure the progress is made to open doors for gamers and game devs everywhere!
