Explora Online is a 2D MMORPG that takes place during the Age of Discovery where kingdoms rule the world, and wooden ships command the open sea.

We’re building EO for AZERO, the entire game itself will be built on Unity with an NFT marketplace and account management environment being able to handle blockchain interactions with Aleph Zero.

Players will be immersed into a fictional world named Zerth, where three major kingdoms rule the ‘Old World’: The Brutes, Oriel Empire, and Izakhars --join an allegiance of any of these 3 and set off on your first quest to discover uncharted territory and collectible relics. You’ll begin with a beginner’s ship and some gold to get your journey as an explorer started.

The objective of the game is to unlock territories, claim land, earn gold, and discover new artifacts around the world. You’ll be sent on quests by your kingdom or participate in ‘Global’ quests such as being the first to circumnavigate or finding the Fountain of Youth. The world of Zerth feels very similar to Earth, but there may be some fantastical elements to it that are yet to be discovered…

The Infrastructure

The infrastructure Explora Online is built upon is segmented into three components: Your EO Account, the Explora Online game itself, and the NFT Marketplace on AZERO.

Your EO Account can be created using an email, Metamask wallet, or an Aleph Zero friendly wallet like Talisman or SubWallet. This will encourage a diversity of player-base that opens up the potential to Web2 gamers and Metamask users finding a home on AZERO.

Explora Online, the game, will interact with your account by storing your username, in-game inventory, and your Web3 assets. Your username will serve as a way to identify your account in the account manager, but your display name in-game will be linked to your Avatar. Whatever you name your avatar is what will be displayed in-game. The avatar is considered ‘in-game inventory’ and can be converted into an NFT and sold; other assets such as your ship, discoveries, and in-game items can also be converted to NFTs and traded in the NFT marketplace. Once something is converted to an NFT it will not be available for use within the game. You can reverse this if you change your mind and convert your NFTs back into in-game assets, or if you’ve bought an avatar, you can convert it into an in-game item and begin playing with it immediately.

The NFT Marketplace will be built on the AZERO blockchain, a zero-knowledge layer-1, privacy-enhancing blockchain that ensures scalability, low transaction fees, instant finality, and optimal security. Here you’ll be required to use an AZERO-compatible wallet to buy, sell, and list items on the EO NFT Marketplace. Converting in-game assets to NFTs will require an AZERO wallet address where the NFTs will be minted and sent to. Once they are NFTs, these items can be freely traded on the open market.

The Game

The 3 main stats in the game are Gold, Stars, and Power.

Gold allows players to purchase skins such as custom sails for your ship, upgrade your ship, buy power points, bribe others, bury treasures, and so much more.

Stars are precious, more precious than gold even! This represents your morale, stamina, and allows you more movement across the open seas. Stars are earned by playing tavern games within port cities. Players automatically earn 5 stars every 30 minutes, but these are capped once you earn 50. The rest you must either purchase from the EO game store, earn through staking, quests, new discoveries or from the Tavern games!

Power represent manpower, weaponry, and cannons. Sometimes you’ll have to fight, whether out at sea or on land. Your power points represent your ability to attack towns, villages, or other ships, as well as how well you can defend yourself. As you upgrade your ship you can raise the threshold of maximum power you can have. Use your gold to recruit more manpower or win some over at the Tavern.

These stats are all in-game currencies and cannot be transferred out into your Web3 Wallet as tokens. As of this moment, there are no plans to launch an Explora Online token.

The tokens we are launching are linked to our Kickstarter Fundraiser, they are a series of NFTs that offer unique benefits when you stake them as well as qualify for an airdrop of a unique EO PFP Avatar NFT that be used in-game.

We have a fundraising goal of 30,000 AZERO; this will help us reach our ambitions of releasing an alpha version of the game where we can get additional community support, additional funding, grow a user base and begin playtesting for our full public release.

We believe this is enough capital to get us to our alpha release in 6 months time. Any additional funds raised will allow us to do much more in a shorter amount of time.

Our team has 10+ years of experience in the games industry and we understand the risks and challenges involved with releasing a game.

Creating Explora Online is a large undertaking and we are prepared and ready to get EO alpha released! We want to ensure the game is the best it can possibly be before we launch the open beta and will do everything we can to reach this goal.

That being said there’s always new challenges and unforeseen things that can come up. We feel confident that as a team we can rise to meet these challenges and deliver a game that we are all proud of. 

The team wishes to remain under stealth mode at the moment, but we will begin to reveal more about ourselves as the project enters closed beta stages and we get more acquainted with the AZERO Community.
