The “white knight endeavor” to rescue one of the world’s most visited websites won’t be easy but with collective collaboration, this mission is bound to be fulfilled.

Given that the capacity and scope of WikiDAO will extend and evolve over time, we’d put both the long-term manifesto which presents values we intend to uphold and the preliminary roadmap that details thoroughly the early steps.

Tentative Roadmap

• Mass user acquisition and migration

A systematic approach for transferring and migrating previous Wikipedia users to this renewed one has been on and will be released shortly, with high efficiency and nearly no user costs.

• Gather intelligence and bring on content creators

The fundamental component to establish a Web3 encyclopedia is spontaneous content creation. We are, therefore, proactively and intensively gathering and bringing on previous Wikipedians (editors and contributors) to WikiDAO at the early stage to help establish a well-functioning content production system.

• Formulate and initiate the token economics and incentive mechanism

The token economics has been carefully designed in the first place as well as the contribution incentive system. However, it will not be initiated into utility until adequate simulations have been run and shown positive.

• Airdrop to previous contributors and early participants

To show gratitudes and fortify the commitment of rewarding contribution, early community members would be rewarded in the first batch of airdrop to which 4% $WIKI tokens have been allocated.

WikiDAO is grateful to all previous content creators and other Wikipedians for contributing to the encyclopedia community and ecosystem. To pay homage to the previous contributors, we’re conducting a specified creator airdrop.

• Community governance implementation

We’d make sure when it comes to governance, plenary meetings and general votes are held frequently while high voter participation in DAO affairs are encouraged with incentive model, and voters with specialized knowledge needed to make informed decisions participate in necessary occasions.

• Launch accessible product service

To provide the largest or probably the first product use case on Web3, our devs are speeding up to release a renewed Web3 WIKI which will be accessible to all users with both existing solutions and novel ways combined in this product. HOLD YOUR BREATH.

• NFT for entry

All contributors will be able to mint the entries that they independently edited as proof of knowledge and information.

• Ecosystem establishment and $WIKI Staking

The tokens staked represent not only holders’ economic interest in WikiDAO but also the voting rights in community changes and developments.

Our intention is to circulate tokens with efficiency and transparency, provide sustainable funding sources and ensure WikiDAO to function independently from elites and politics.

Also the staking mechanism will allow all participants to earn significant rewards in the ecosystem regardless of how small or large their contribution to the treasury is.
