Let me tell you a few words about my hobby, specifically my passion for photography, namely urban, gonzo and documentary genres. When I was still a kid I got my hands on a soviet FED camera (extremely unique piece of crap) and off I went.
The first films were of course jammed and my "best shot" forever stayed on the first loaded film I failed to develop lol.
After learning to press the camera shutter button, develop and print photos, I started discovering some really outstanding works by photographers from Magnum and VU agencies.
Rare aged albums by Igor Mukhin, Ralph Gibson, Larry Clark, Martin Parr, Rene Buri, Sol Leiter, Cartier Bresson (I have to stop listing names, otherwise it will take all day)
Later on an exceptional photographer came into my life who literally lived two blocks away from my home, Sergei Rogozhkin cargocollective.com/rogozhkinsb. It is incredible how much he brought to the table.
Thus began a whole new story. Me and my decisive moment with a 35mm voigtlander and leica m6 and a journey down the rabbithole of different schools of the genre. My participation in street festivals, shots, and street fights… I'll tell you all about it next time.
