P2E, P2E, P2C Future Models for Gamification Using Wrapped Nfts

My name is Matthew “PurpLeTariat” Michaud, and I am Co-Founder of Wild Party Dao, An experimental community focused on metaverse shows and using web 3 solutions to improve the effectiveness of releasing singles,ep’s and albums with our in-house production team. This is the first of many posts centered around ideas for p2e mechanics, metaverse building and web 3 music, both things we are exploring building within the dao or looking to, and things I’d love to see built. This is the model we will be exploring for when our community coin is released, using wrapped nft technology we will be using our NFT Buddies to create a P2E, P2C(play to collect) PVP game with strong Rpg elements. The reason for posting this article is for other devs and members in the nft community to implement these ideas to current ideas and to join us as we work on bringing these things to life.

P2E P2P model using wrapped nfts

I first became aware of wrapped NFT’s seeing Vincent Van Dough and Loomdarts plan to fork pudgy penguins after their whole situation, as well as doodles plan to use wrapped NFTs to create the next version of doodles project. While both use cases are strong, especially if we can create our own consumer protection in form of helping rugged communities fork, I think the use cases in P2E gaming are even stronger. If there are multiple variants of each NFT, in case of NFT Buddies different types of concentrates, then gameifying it in a way where in essence a nft can be wrapped for any variant, each variant provides a specific boost to staking rewards, as well as any other abilities you might want to add(example interaction with hydration rates, or modifiers on specific random event chances from previous example) and on top add only a set amount of each variants allowed to be claimable at any time. In addition, adding revealed or hidden multipliers of having certain combinations of variants to encourage people not to just claim all one type. This not only creates a strategy element to create the best staking teams but also creates an active secondary. A deflationary mechanism can be added by allowing a holder to burn a variant which will return there original base nft with a buff, this buff can even be expressed in metadata by a unique set of attributes like a special suit of armor, this buff will carry over to all variants, but the visual aesthetic doesn’t necessarily need to. By adding these elements as well as stats to our base cards it will allow a more player focused experience similar to Axie but less time consuming, I feel this is the perfect balance to P2E, allowing players to not necessarily commit a whole lot of time or their be a huge learning curve, but still allowing for a rich playing experience combining strategy, team building, and rpg and quest elements(more on that later) to keep players engaged as well as allowing our team to even add rich story elements.

Other Concepts for gamification

In addition to the different variants there are a few other gamification ideas we are looking to implement 

1 hydration mechanic, when at peak hydration owners stake for maxim revenue, degrades x percent per x blocks, could sell hydration bundles that will allow max hydration for cheap and have varying tiers of beverages with different modifiers to yields, would work best on l2 to minimize gas impact

  1. Random event, Every x blocks a random event occurs in 1 of 4 categories (example Luck, Strength, Dexterity, Charisma) creates a good or bad effect for x blocks, can have store/special exclusive one of one auction events and drops for items that will buff for each category to help chances of good occurrence. By adding these random encounters we can also implement Staked Crafting rewards(more info next section)
  2. Vibes Generation, partner with music artists to create tracks exclusively for project, do limited edition audio visual drops of different raritys around music tracks, have vibes counter account for time held and a modifier for rarity as vibe meter charges staking rewards gradually increase, vibes meter reset on transfer or via random event
  3. Item shop. By adding an item shop we can facilitate multiple gamification implementations such as, selling beverages for hydration meter, selling wearable items that add a buff to skill or staking(it would be preferable to leave metadata unfrozen so we can actually add the aesthic, this will also increase secondary market as well but will leave up to governance vote), It also allows for option to add a black market option where a random event allows you to buy rare crafting items or wearables.

Crafting Mechanisms and staked crafting rewards

Staked crafting rewards will be items dropped to staked holders picked at random every x blocks, these crafting items will have fixed rarity proportional to their supply.  These crafting items will be either able to be combined for wearables, where burning multiple crafting items will increase your chances by rarity to mint a higher tier wearable. They will also be able to be burnt for artwork where we’ll work with an ai artist to create an ai to make generated images with crafting items being linked to files source image for ai artwork is sourced from, this will be something that will more than likely be a time delay thing so there will need to be a higher level of community trust to implement.

Quest Mechanisms and P2C(Play to Collect)

Another benefit of implementing the staked item rewards is being able to implement a quest/loot system. Where by using same premise behind staked crafting rewards, we can air drop random quest items that will be specific to a certain quest. Quests will be given lore and their own stories around it and will be either overlapping or singular. The way quests will function is we’ll work with curated teams of visual artists creating both one of one and editions, once all quest items are collected they will be able to be redeemed for a mint of a randomly selected piece from that quests collection.

Future expansion

Once set aside staking rewards hit x percent(percentage decided on by community the opportunity to burn the initial supply of base NFT Buddies nft arises. By removing staking rewards by variant allowing holders to chose one they like for aesthetics and receiving the same reward as base, and burning their base NFT Buddies for $joints. Then dropping a new base nft to stake for $joint as well as variants and implementing same models with expanded gameplay as community grows, allowing for new mechanics to be added, new community growth and a more engaged fan base.

Conclusions

By balancing the team building elements of traditional rpgs and blockchain games like Axie Infinity, and not having to overcome the technical aspects of world building and design(all though building a metaverse focused on audio performance is something we are exploring and will be written about in a future post, mainly the idea of buying a mine for your land which will allow an artist to create their own social token.) While games like this are ideal the time and wear on community as built can turn very negative. Games structured like this and in models similar to this will have faster up times while still creating real game experiences. With the addition to play to collect models, not only can we give visual artists an engaged fan base, but also create a vibrant community of art collectors as well as decentralized finance enthusiasts and fans of p2e games. The Wild Party Dao Team is Currently working on finalizing the NFT Buddies and hoping to have the base nft live in next 30 days, Plans for roadmap as well as other ideas for future of project to follow.
