Intro
Yeow what's good!! I’m Finn, also known on the internet as Uppbeat. I’m an alternative artist from the West of Ireland. I have been excited about the web3 space for about a year now and I’m finally ready to take the leap into music NFTs. I’m extremely passionate about music and I have spent the last two years helping various artists launch their careers some of which have been in web3. More specifically, I focus on artist development, marketing, and creating unique fan experiences for artists I love as well as myself.
What is Hyperpunk?
On the edge of a new world, what does music look like? Or even culture itself? What does the ever-iconic subculture of punk look like in an era of censorship, controlled narratives, plastic controversy, and an obsession with boundaries, definitions and genres?
This is not about punk music, but the continuation of the raw and honest energy usually found within punk and transforming it into the present. Hyper punk is the attitude and sonic palette of a subculture called “Hi Vis.” “Hi Vis” is a movement that signifies a belief in true decentralization and raw vulnerable expression. We are entering a new world, a world we will help build and shape for the good of our community. Whether you’re interested in building genuine connections through unique experiences, transmuting pain into progress, or positively impacting the lives of others. We will be seen and heard.
Funding goal
I am looking to bring my next collection of songs to life so that I can paint the picture of the next chapter of the hi-vis journey. Although music is the core medium I use to express my vision, I also want to create a very unique and immersive rollout which is an equally important part of the experience I want to offer. I will use this funding to promote the songs, pay the musicians involved, and to curate unique experiences both physically and virtually with a physical event scheduled to take place in London.
Anyone who holds a token will be invited to all of the upcoming Hyperpunk // events and will be granted exclusive access to our community discord which consists of a network of forward-thinking creators and innovators in tech.
The first million streams of revenue generated from this project will be directly reinvested back into the supporters of the Hi Vis community and the holders of the Hyperspace and Hypersun token will have a vote in deciding what shall be done with this money.
Each supporter of the Hyperpunk // mirror editions will also get a profile on the Hi Vis website where they can tell their story and promote themselves. Furthermore, these individuals will also be receiving physical merchandise as well as NFT wearables. I think the marketing rollout is a key component of this project as it will expose many web2 artists to the possibilities of web3, we will be working alongside the music marketing agency Exhale Talent to help ensure we execute correctly.
The owners of the Hyperpunk editions will be enabling all members of the Hi Vis community to enjoy both the music and the show, hence enabling a community that does not discriminate against any individual's financial situation. In summary, you are not only investing in an artist but also the empowerment of a community.
What is Exhale?
Founded by Josh Roxby and Matthew Fox, Exhale is a creative agency focused on web3. Exhale consists of a team of builders, developers, music managers, marketers, videographers, photographers, artists, 3D designers, and well quite a lot more. Anyways, the reason I am mentioning Exhale is because I believe they will be of paramount importance to the success of this project. I am extremely blessed to have this competent team to help bring my Hyperpunk // vision to life.
The Exhale team has a proven track record working in the web3 space, most recently executing on the rollout for Johnny Depp’s NFT project “Never Fear Truth”. Moreover, Exhale Talent the musical subsidiary of Exhale has played an important role in helping progress the careers of a number of musical artists such as Kid Travis, Elle Lexxa, and CRIM. Exhale will act as the vehicle that will allow me to deliver on all of the promises I am making to the Hyperpunk // Collectors.
The people
Before I ever started trying to build a community it was already there. I have been blessed with an extensive group of extremely creative and passionate individuals, these people are the core inspiration of my music. On my travels, I would encounter many new people and hear many stories that would blow my mind. I felt a calling to share these stories with the world and create a place where these stories cannot only be seen but heard. Many of these people have become my closest friends and this is how “Hi Vis” came to being. I can’t mention these people without mentioning Exhale. Since the summer of 2020, Exhale has been invaluable to my learnings and acted as the catalyst for my transition into web3.
I have always been obsessed with the value, wisdom, and happiness that one-to-one connections can create. Although this ambition isn’t necessarily scalable, I have always wanted to create situations and events from which new meaningful one-to-one connections can flourish.
As I built Hi Vis in the web2 world, I would find myself constantly getting frustrated at the fact I couldn’t interact, connect or bring value to this community in the manner that I wished. That was the case until I was exposed to web3, which at the time sounded like a utopian paradigm shift. A world where I could reward my core community, build long-term relationships and create more opportunities for like-minded people to connect.
The dream
I have always thrived in live event settings and I have cultivated a strong loyal fanbase through performing. That is where my expertise lies, my bigger dream is to create unique events that are free from the typical confinements of ticket sales and venue restrictions. I want to curate atmospheric installations with the creatives in my community to bring one-of-one experiences to different places all across the world as well as in the metaverse.
The reason I am so excited about the community aspect of this project is because when a group of people come together, they create something unique and beautiful unlike that of which they would have otherwise created alone. Utilizing the infrastructure of web3 allows us to build trust within the community and collaborate to create and enjoy new unique experiences rather than settling for the same experiences we have grown accustomed to. This is about creating our space in the world, a space for those who think a little differently and find it difficult to relate and be enthused by the normality of day-to-day society. A world for the alt kids, the creatives, the entrepreneurs and anyone who relates to the core ethos of Hi Vis. The sound and attitude is HYPERPUNK, the community is Hi Vis. We will be seen and heard.
The rollout
If we meet the funding goal for this project I want to put a big focus on how the EP is rolled out from a marketing and experiential perspective. I don’t just want to execute one of the most unique EP rollouts in Web3. I want to showcase to Web2 artists, the possibilities Web3 can unlock for real-life experiences. I want to demonstrate the power Web3 has to help artists build their fanbase from the ground up. From observing this project, web2 artists will be able to see how they can put investors’ capital to real use. Moreover, they will be able to see how their investment helps impact day-to-day life and create a meaningful moment in culture. We will utilize the Hi Vis community to build this rollout and create some extremely special moments along the way.
