Quadratic Funding, but to allocate plural attention

Quadratic Funding (QF) usually means using the quadratic function to allocate a pool of money to fund a range of projects based on numbers of members and intensities of their contribution.

Similarly, the same function can be applied to rather allocate a pool of communal attention to filter certain categories of news out from the great turbulent ocean of information. This allocation is based on how much shared interest the group has on a range of topics. And I call this process plural RSS.

Once subscribing to a plural RSS service, the newsletter a group receives would focus most on those categories which the group members share most interest in. The composition of this plural newsletter is calculated using the QF functions and each member’s subscription pie chart by topics.

In this way, plural RSS would shape and strengthen the consensual information feed of any community, and this plural concensus reactively changes according to members’ joining or exit. It is especially helpful for collaboration between creators, where communal attention focused on the highest common interests is needed to both narrow down and to case study the topic they want to collaborate on.

A step further, the plural RSS newsletter can be translated into plural minting of NFTs, which I call them the Philosopher's Stone. The intensity of communal focus on a certain topic, as well as the quantity and quality of information all the members involve, decide the rarity of the Stone NFT. And these Stones can financially support artists and creators, especially for those who are in their early stages before commercial success. In this way, Philosopher's Stones can positively contribute to the creator economy.

The following is a short manga that explains the idea above in further detail.
