🛠 A Growing & Differentiating List of Web3 DAO Tools

This DAO Toolkit is a list of software tools–both live & in-development–that can be used to either make DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations) or extend their functionality. I will continue adding to, and organizing this list as it evolves.

What I’m Personally Using:

  • GnosisSafe : In one of the DAOs I’m working within, we’re using a multi-signature ethereum wallet form GnosisSafe to manage the core treasury.
  • Mirror : What this post was written and shared on. How they describe themselves: “The essential web3 toolkit for sharing and funding anything. From writing about your latest idea, to building a home for the next big DAO.”
  • Nestr : A decentralized collaboration platform whose “goal is to support purpose driven organisations and allow people to do work that reflects their personal values.”

All-in-One DAO Makers:

  • Aragon : “Build your Decentralized Autonomous Organization on open-source infrastructure with governance plugins.”
  • Colony : “Colony makes it easy for people all over the world to build organizations together, online.”
  • DAOHaus : “Join us in pioneering a future where magic internet communities unlock the power of human-centric coordination.”
  • DAOstack : “An open source project advancing the technology and adoption of decentralized governance.”
  • Hypha : “each of the branching filaments that make up the mycelium network that coordinates thriving ecosystems”
  • Soonaverse : “An all-in-one feeless platform for community engagement and DAO creation.”

DAO Tools:

  • Backdrop : “Connecting Tokenized Commmunities. Dive into leading tokenized projects and DAOs across web3.”
  • Clarity : “Easily plan projects, track tasks, and stay organized with a single collaborative workspace that combines freeform documents with structured project management.”
  • Commonwealth : “Commonwealth is an all-in-one platform for on-chain communities to discuss, vote, and fund projects together.”
  • Coordinape : “A platform for DAOs to easily and fairly distribute resources to contributors.”
  • Dework : “A web3-native Trello with token payments, credentialing, bounties and more”
  • Gitcoin : “the easiest way to leverage the open source community to incentivize or monetize work.”
  • Guild : “Manage roles in your community based on tokens, NFTs, whitelists, POAPs, Unlock, Mirror, Juicebox and more.”
  • Juicebox : “Build a community around a project, fund it, and program its spending. Light enough for a group of friends, powerful enough for a global network of anons.”
  • PrimeDAO : “DAOs are growing in power but remain isolated digital organisations. PrimeDAO creates next-generation coordination tools to connect them - built the DAO native way.”
  • Unlock : “Create locks and place them anywhere you’d like to lock content. Users can purchase memberships as NFT keys that grant access to content, tickets and anything else you’d like to monetize.”
  • Whaleroom is a social community-focused platform that makes it easy for hosts to craft unique and timeless token-gated experiences, events, communities, and content.

Discord Tools:

  • Craig.chat is the multi-track voice channel recording bot for Discord

Interesting In Development:

  • Abridged : A technology stack to build and manage decentralized projects. No coding required.
  • Neighbourhoods : “goodbye platforms, hello neighbourhoods”
  • The Commons Stack : “Our library of open-source, interoperable web3 components will put effective new tools in the hands of communities, enabling them to raise and allocate shared funds, make transparent decisions, and monitor their progress in supporting the Commons.”
