1 - Project Background
1.1 What is Lifeform?
Lifeform is a web3 ecosystem project focusing on "decentralized digital identity". Driven by technological innovation, it focuses on the development of visual DID integration solutions. The core products include 3D super-realistic avatar editor, visual DID protocol, security intelligence Contract suite, native decentralized identity SaaS system service, and Metaverse underlying engine for Web3 cross-application development. People can easily create hyper-realistic 3D avatars with advanced Lifeform DID solutions, enabling them to log into any DAPP and Metaverse using NFTs as digital identities.
1.2 What are DIDs?
DID = Decentralized Identity, a decentralized, identifiable and readable identity on the chain. Independently owned by individuals, rather than in the hands of a centralized organization.
1.3 What is Visual DID?
Visual DID has all the functions of ordinary DID, such as right confirmation and decentralized storage, but the biggest difference between it and traditional DID is: visual DID is conveyed and displayed by the senses of each concrete character image, and visual DID Owners can communicate and interact with other people in the Metaverse through some exquisite 3D modeling images, adding some emotional warmth to the rational basis of traditional digital DIDs.

Lifeform's biggest challenge: platform lock-in
One of the most common problems in web2 is that large platforms generally use various hard and soft mechanisms to lock their users, the most common of which is locking your user data inside the platform. For example, Instagram owns the management and disposition of all images uploaded by users and the content of communications between users and their contacts. If users want to leave the Instagram platform, there will be no simple and effective way to save the social content produced by users in their daily social activities, and these social content will be bound in the Instagram platform as platform assets. In other words, the person who actually owns the content is the platform side, not the creator of the content, which has serious disadvantages.
Unfortunately, because web3 was born in the infancy of decentralized consensus, there are still many web3 platforms blindly replicating the monopoly script in the web2 system. At the identity management level, while they allow users to create pseudonymous identities that can be used to explore the metaverse, participate in DeFi, or create the next web3 use case, they still try to lock users into such pseudonymous identities or application platforms. For example, users on Decentraland cannot bring their identities to the Sandbox and vice versa.
It is important to note that when the identity information of a Web3 user is locked, the assets under their name will naturally also be locked.
