25 Days of Mintmas

Hi I’m MILES and here's a little bit about me.

I was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri and I started making music in my bedroom on a cracked version of logic pro and putting it out straight onto soundcloud. At one point I was releasing about a song a week and just having fun with it until one of them started blowing up and earned me the chance at coming out to LA and giving the music thing a real shot.

I played football at Dartmouth for a little bit but my heart was already fully into music so I dropped out worked at a cupcake shop until I saved enough money to pack my bags and move out to LA where I finally get to do what I’ve always wanted to; make music with some of the most talented people on the planet and share it with you guys!

Today - I’m proud to announce 25 Days of Mintmas. 25 days of Music NFTs on Sound to celebrate my entry to web3.

Here’s what you need to know.

What is 25 Days of Mintmas?

25 Days of Mintmas is my way of diving head first into web3.

I’ll be dropping a new song every day for the first 25 days of December.

Every song will feature 25 editions at 0.02 ETH.

Each song will have a presale of 10 editions at 0.01 ETH.

The goal is to make a strong first impression and try out a release format completely unlike anything you’d expect from the traditional music industry.

Typically - everyone in the music industry goes offline for December. Instead, I’m coming in hot by dropping a song a day - kicking off with my Genesis collection on Sound on December 1st.

The first song is called “Hold On” - it’s about those intrusive thoughts, you know, the ones that hit you late at night and send you in a never-ending loop. Finding something to hold onto, whatever that may be brings you back to the reality that you are in control of how you deal with shit. Being able to embrace the ebb and flow of making music in a digital world.

Keep in mind that the turnaround on these songs are much faster than how I would normally release.

You can think of this as demos.

I’ll be showcasing them on my Tiktok and linking people back to Sound and Spinamp when they ask where to find them.

My Industry Journey

I had been putting music out for a couple years and things were definitely moving in the right direction but it all changed when I released a country trap song on tiktok during quarantine.

I had a viral moment and it allowed me to start working with new people and start gaining interest from major labels which was always my dream. Fast forward a year and a few songs later and I signed my first record deal.

I was filming music videos in Hawaii, had a song come out with Travis Barker, and really felt like I was coming into my own as the superstar I always knew I could be. However, over those two years in that deal I made hundreds of songs and only about 10 got released.

There had to be a plan to release the songs and it had to be the right moment and it was always something as to why we couldn’t just put them out so now I’m happy to say I am 100% independent and ready to share this music with the world.

Building Community

Community has always been important to me and finding new and fun ways to build it has always been a passion of mine.

I started streaming on Twitch to give people an inside look at how i was making my music and what was going on in my life because it felt more personal than just DMing fans and rather creating a space where people could share what they were working on and get feedback on what i was doing live and as close to in person as you can get on the internet.

Outside of the internet is what I really love though and that means playing shows to an audience of people and popping out to show love to artists I care about when they have live events keeping up with the community of incredibly talented people I've met while living out here in LA.

Web3 Goals

I’ve always been interested in crypto and what sound is doing, allowing people to invest and actually own a piece of the pie in an artist they truly care about is such a cool idea to me.

I’m most excited about the fact I now get to make this music and put it out whenever I want and whenever I feel like dropping something. It allows me to not be too precious with what I release and sit on songs that I love for an extended period of time until they just end up never coming out.

I remember when I first found out about Sound and immediately saw so many familiar faces dropping music and I just knew I had to get involved.

So shoutout to Sound for giving me this opportunity and I cannot wait to really begin to call this space my own.

Get Involved

Stay up with 25 Days of Mintmas by following me on Twitter.

After the first few days, I’ll set up a collectors chat on Telegram for everyone to meet one another.

I’m excited to take my first step into the space and look forward to experimenting with you all!
