To our incredible X2Y2 community,

Three years ago, on February 6, 2022, we launched the beta of X2Y2 with all of you by our side. What a ride it's been. Together, we built something extraordinary—peaking as the 2nd largest NFT marketplace behind OpenSea, racking up $5.6 billion in all-time trading volume, and even today, holding strong as the 3rd largest in the game (via TokenTerminal). I look back on those wild days—the highs of the NFT boom, the lows of its fade—with nothing but gratitude for what we achieved together. You made this journey unforgettable, and I'll always cherish that.

But today, I'm here to share a big decision: we're sunsetting X2Y2 as an NFT marketplace. One month from now, on April 30, 2025, the platform will shut down completely. The smart contracts will keep running, so you can still interact with them as needed—no rush to pull anything. I know this might sting, especially when it comes to token price. X2Y2 tokens were tied to this NFT vision, and as we close this chapter, that's likely to hit hard. I feel that with you, and I'm not here to sugarcoat it.

Why now? The 90% shrinkage of NFT trading volume from its peak in 2021 is for sure one of the many reasons. But most importantly, Marketplaces live or die by network effects. We fought tooth and nail to be #1, but after three years, it's clear it's time to move on. The NFT chapter taught us a lot—most of all, that lasting value beats chasing trends. That lesson's why we're drawing a line here, not a pause or a maybe, but a full stop on X2Y2 as we knew it.

Here's the exciting part: this isn't goodbye. It's a pivot. Over the last 12 months, we've been diving deep into AI—hands down the biggest paradigm shift we'll see in our lifetimes—and how it can transform crypto. We're building something new, something that takes everything we've learned and aims higher. Picture this: yields in a permissionless way, powered by AI. It's decentralized, it's innovative, and it's built to matter—bull or bear, cycle after cycle. This isn't just another project; it's our shot at creating real, long-term value in crypto, for the broader community we're proud to serve.
